What kind of antagonist was everyone hoping to see?
Originally I wanted a movie where the main cast travelled to another verse and faced off against a more evil and reckless God of Destruction. One who was threatening the balance of his universe because he was destroying planets non stop because he'd gone somewhat insane with power and being labelled a God.
After the "there's someone I want you revive"/"worst wish in history" info came out though I wanted them to revive the original Super Saiyan God. I think that had potential because he could have been similar to Zod, died trying to protect his people but finds out his planet and race have been wiped out upon revival leading to problems.
I'm happy enough with Frieza but I'd have preferred something closer to what I had in mind.

So you predicted :
Vegeta having a brother ?
Beerus and Whis ?
Super Saiyan God ?
Goku losing against Beerus ?
Vegeta getting a huge power up in BOG ?
The 12 universes ?
Freeza coming back to life ?
Goku&Vegeta training with Whis ?
Freeza getting a new form ?
9-0. Will you get up, TheGmGoken?!
What?

See for me the original SSJ God wasn't that powerful to begin with, even with the power up. To me he/she would've been a far worst Villian then Freeza for a movie, but to each their own.

Why a pure-hearted Saiyan would be a villain?

That's a good reason too.

Some [F] stuff coming to that DB Discross game? Has this been reported already?

Earlier in the same thread there's an image from a GT guidebook(?)
http://i.imgur.com/4KpBTx1.jpg is Vegeta's GT haircut/mustache designed to be a Freddie Mercury shoutout? I haven't looked at early GT Vegeta in forever, but it definitely looks like this to me now.
On hiatus.

See when I saw the 'worst wish in history' or 'The wish to bring great despair' I thought up dozens of directions that they could go with that and one was where the saiyan race returned and set their sights on Earth as a new home, Goku and Vegeta now have to fight and stop their revived race.
But recently with the Freeza info, I've been entertaining the idea of something possessing or controlling Freeza and that thing is not only responsible for his power up but also his revival, then when all is said and done Freeza could leave similar to how Megatron does at the end of TF Prime, even echoing the same sentiment as ol bucket head!

Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

That does make me wonder if we're going to get a resolution to that plot thread beyond Freeza getting defeated
again, and them being left leaderless
again, and everything essentially being put back to square one. Maybe part of the point with the huge army of Freeza minions attacking Earth is so that all of Freeza's supporters spread throughout the universe will be gathered together in one convenient location...where the Z Fighters can kill the lot of them in one go. That way, even if the movie does boil down to "Freeza is brought back to life again, killed again, the end", at least this time all his thugs will be gone too, so the universe will be much better off than it was before.

But the idea would be that because the original Super Saiyan God fought for the good of his people that when he died he would have been able to keep his body and then like Goku would have trained in otherworld but in his case he would have been training for hundreds, maybe
thousands of years so entirely believable for him to be a considerable threat.

I don't know if it was already posted here but there's already fans cosplaying with the new outfits.
It happened with BOG too, when a guy cosplayed Beerus before the movie coming out. The power of Dragon Ball.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

So all this time in the after life training he becomes... evil, and decides his race is more important then others?
I have to admit if there is anything I didn't like about BoG, (other then the lack of much action) it was the origin story of the SSJG. I mean how did they even know they could do that to begin with? And he still failed, so he probably didn't keep his body anyway.

Well like I said he'd have been a good Saiyan who would have been defending his kind but then died. Upon revival he would find out that his entire race and home planet have been eradicated causing him to snap.
Like with Zod in Man of Steel and how we was trying to terraform Earth to make it a new Krypton ("My actions no matter how cruel are for the good of my people"). Something a long the lines of that, doing something evil for the sake of restoring his race and home.

But that wouldn't be an original story either, and fans would complain that's just Toriyama trying to make Goku into Superman... again.

Well I'm not saying they should have that idea specifically, just the general idea.
Maybe he'd want to wish them back but the Z Fighters wouldn't let him because they know it'd put hundreds of worlds and billions of lives at risk but he wouldn't listen to reason and that would lead to a conflict.
They've never had a good guy turn into a bad guy yet. They've done the opposite a few times (Piccolo, Vegeta, #18, Buu) but never the other way around in any kind of significant way so I think it'd be interesting just for that.

You know I do like the idea of a good guy becoming a bad guy (Majin Vegeta

), but I'd want it to be Goku himself, or Gohan, we've never actually had Goku and Gohan tear into each other for a truly end all be fight.

That conflicts with Dragon Ball Online though, and what do you guys mean leaderless, Avo and Cado filled the void when Freeza went missing, however, it seems to be back in the same condition once they seemingly vanished after the Tarble special. At this point, Freeza's organization just needs a new leader that stops attacking the damn Earth and concentrate on ruling the rest of the universe outside Earth's solar system. The Z-senshi don't bother anyone beyond Earth's reach anyway unless they threaten the balance of the universe or something drastic.

DBO's lore on Freeza's soldiers is already irrelevant since there are multiple contradictions to the game's story from Toriyama in recent years (especially if Freeza doesn't die here). It should probably be viewed as a separate continuity unto itself now.

I probably need to re-watch the special, but I don't think they're described as actually
leading anybody. They just seem to be doing everything on their own. And like you said, they're presumably out of the picture following the events of the special either way.
On the other hand, I did totally forget that Sorbet is described as leading Freeza's forces following Freeza's death. But while I'm sure he has excellent administrative skills, his leadership probably doesn't rally the troops quite as much as having the most powerful being in the universe calling the shots.

I still don't see how they'll make Freeza more powerful than Bojack
