It makes sense the original fanbase would be older in Japan than in the U.S; the "airing on TV height of popularity" has FujiTV's child/teen audience easily 10 years removed (and so at least 10 years older on average than) from Toonami's child/teen audience in age, so it works mathematically that these idols' dads were from the original audience in Japan.

The Dragon Ball anime just turned 29, so it makes sense that the (much) older audience related to/affiliated with MomoClo would be more excited about this than them.

Already looks like there's going to be more substance to this than BOG. Something tells me it's not just training that gives Freeza his new power. Same goes for his henchmen. I think there's an external source giving them this massive boost...like a type of mist or something...

Other thoughts:
- Hmmm, Goku lying hurt while Vegeta stand over him? Let the rumours fly.
-The fight scenes also look really cool, particularly the screenshot with Kuririn.
- Can't wait to see what Beerus and Whis's roles are in all of this, apart from training Goku and Vegeta. Their reactions to Freeza should be interesting.
- It also appears that Sorbet's ring does...something.
- The water and forest backgrounds look kinda 3D. I guess this was to be expected.
- The forest also kinda resembles the one in BOG.
- Some of these screenshots are pretty ugly, but they're obviously meant to be seen in motion
- Tagoma looks like Freeza in that one shot of him looking shocked.

Reni Takagi's comment reads as though she thinks Dragon Ball Z aired in a similar timeslot to Dragon Ball Kai (9:00 a.m. on a weekend), rather than at 7:00 on a weekday evening like it actually did.

I suppose it could be her father who's the one misremembering, but that doesn't seem likely. Maybe he caught a rebroadcast...?

I'm sure the shot of Gohan getting taken down is from Freeza... which is still incredibly sad... but it'd be better than the grunts doing it. Although with one of them punching out Piccolo, maybe they do beat Gohan.

That's almost hilariously bad.

Vegeta's powering up is pretty interesting, though. I wonder if that's meant to be something other than a standard power up, or if it's just more stylized than usual.

The outfit of the minion beating up Piccolo...what's up with the cutout in his armor above his crotch? Just wanted to show off his abs? Is this the "new style" all the kids in Freeza's army are wearing and "shut up, you just don't understand fashion!"

The new screenshots bring all kinds of excitement, particularly Vegeta standing over Gokuu. Oh my god, please let it be just before he gets some big moment to shine! (and hopefully NOT yet another time where he says, "You can't defeat Kakarrot, I will be the one to beat him!" ) Also nice that they're changing up the scenery again, taking us into forests and stuff (unfortunately, seems to be in poorly blended CGI...though honestly that's what I was expecting after how they did things in Battle of Gods).

And Beerus looks to be fully awake in that last shot! If I recall, all shots we've seen of him at this point had him looking like he was possibly sleep-walking. Yay, looking forward to my favorite purple cat having more awesome/funny/cute scenes!
