Goten and Trunks power discussion?

It's also an indication that Gohan is so rusty that even his little brother is making him sweat. He spent months to retrieve his former strenght, only to Vegeta to say Gohan wasn't even close to that level. Dabra most likely is comparable to the Cell that fought Goku, yet Gohan couldn't overpower him.

Goku came into this when you mentioned his fight against Ginyu Force as an example (which I don't see the conection).

Goten doesn't really have skill, which somewhat evens the playing field since Gohan is also rusty.

The sparring session just shows they're close in power. I just don't see how can look at the scene and conclude Goten is nowhere close to Gohan in power.

If Dabra is = to the Cell Goku fought, then Dabra ~ Cell (@ Goku) ~ MSSJ Gohan > MSSJ Goku (CG)

The problem is when you use that instance to conclude Goten is close to the power Gohan had at Cell Games or with the power Gohan had when he fought Dabra.

I never said close to Cell Games Gohan.

All it shows is Goten ~ Teen Gohan.

And I don't think Gohan (at Dabra) is that much stronger than pre-TB Gohan. Nothing suggests Gohan made awesome gains while Goten gained nothing.

It's much easier to regain strenght you already had, then acquire one you never had, think about it. Even Goten and Trunks became stronger than Saiyaman Gohan, but there is no way to know how much strenght Gohan regained.

It was only about a month or so right? Nothing suggests Gohan got massively stronger while Goten got only moderately stronger. Gohan was also worried about being outstripped by Goten and Trunks, which wouldn't make sense if his rate of growth (in strenght) was much faster than theirs. Trunks also comments that Goten really improved.

If Gohan and Goten are close in power and are shown sparring together, and doing the same training together, there's no reason to assume Gohan got so much more out of it.

It's not like Gohan got massively stronger, he just became able to use most of his power. See how fast he gets used to the throwing-rocks-training, it's because his body was remembering the reflex he had back then.

Goten got a lot stronger. Though, there is no way to quantify if Goten gains are comparable or greater than the strenght Gohan retrieved. Basically, Goten became strong enough to outstrip Saiyaman Gohan. But even going by detached panels, Gohan and Goten didn't train all the time together. Goten still had to refine his techniques, like kamehameha.

So out of curiosity, how much do you have Gohan and Goten gaining in that month? And just how much weaker is Gohan than his kid self?

Because Gohan is a Half-blood Saiyan (which itself is a warrior race) and King Piccolo is a Dragon-Type Namekian. Though, I could say Piccolo lost more power than Kami. Also, it doesn't have to be 1/10th, it's just an arbitrary number I pictured in my mind.
