Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
On Kanzenshuu it says that Vegeta say's "Your history." but on Anime News Network it says Beerus saying something similar instead. What's the real one? I'm just wondering and it doesn't change a whole lot, and they do sound similar, but which one is correct?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
You know, I don't have any problem with Super Saiyajin God. I think it fits. The ritual, though, that's another topic on its own...
But speaking about Freeza I simply don't feel it. Don't see anything great about it. It, to me, feels as something that came out of devianART made by a 10 year old.
And no, I don't hate every new design made by Toriyama. SSJ God I feel is okay. Beerus design, no problem whatsoever. Whis more of the same. But the Golden Digimon, not feeling it.

Personally my issue is, don't call it Super Saiyan God. Call it something else. Just call Goku "God Goku" and have the ritual just be called "The God ritual". It's called Super Saiyan God to pretty much bank on the Super Saiyan name. Kinda like Super Saiyan 4. Though Super Saiyan 4 is a far more worthy edition than God in my opinion to the Super Saiyan line up.Drayenko wrote:You know, I don't have any problem with Super Saiyajin God. I know people hate the Kaioken comparison, but honestly if this was billed as something like "Perfect Kaioken", I think we'd all buy it pretty easily.

Golden Freeza? Dammit, I was hoping for white chest piece Freeza (anyone remember that?). Anyway, he now looks like Cooler mixed with Thanos. Seriously. I don't HATE the design, but it comes off as rather uninspired.
Don't really care about Jaco. I never read that manga. I am again disappointed that Pilaf is back, as he's not funny. I will only be not-disappointed if he obtains super god power and one-shots Freeza.
Nice to see the scene of Inexplicably Strong Seven Foot Tall Devil Man punching Piccolo in full. So yeah, it's exactly as crappy as once thought. It's not an off-guard hit, it actually hurts him, and it comes from a generic mook that's weaker than Dodoria. But Toriyama's involved, so I'm sure people will defend this anyway.
This trailer also seems to support the idea of Vegeta being the one to defeat Freeza. Can't say I like that idea. I'd much rather have him get tortured to death again, except this time just stay dead motherfucker. Well, actually, what I'd really like is for kid Trunks to pinch Freeza's head off, but that's not gonna happen.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

The more distinct and visibly different form is SSJG yet you really prefer Ssj, despite it's extreme simplicity...dbzfan7 wrote:Not really. SSJ God makes him skinnier...and recolours his hair. Goku has a different hairstyle as an SSJ. It's not hair waving around. Honestly if SSJ was designed with today's current mindset, it'd probably just look like this.
Spoiler:
SsjG completely changes Goku's physique and forms a constantly flaming aura around him.
Ssj just spikes his hair up...
SSJ spikes his hair up, changes the colour, bulks him up a little, and makes him actually look like he wasn't just having a colour touch up by some folk on deviantart. SSJ Goku could even pass as a new character if we changed his outfit and no one knew it was a form. Show SSJ God without anyone knowing what it is, and it looks pretty much like a red skinny Goku. Hardly different from his normal self. I doubt many people honestly would call SSJ God a far better design than SSJ. Hell it's so bad, it seems they may not even use it again. For such a defining form, it sure left as quickly as it came. It was even shoved out at the end of the last movie for SSJ. I wonder why? It's good for game developers as they hardly have to do jack shit to changing Goku's model in games.
Just give Frieza's new form a chance, you might surprise yourself with how much you'll end up liking it.
All in all, Frieza could look identical with different colored spheres on his limbs and face, and I'd love it if THAT transformation represented something powerful and awesome in the series.
On the other hand, if the design was very different and interesting looking, but it represented something bland and boring, I'd absolutely hate it and revert to viewing Frieza's original form as his definitive form.

Oh well, I have an infinite number of issues with Battle of Gods. But Goku's design is not one of them.dbzfan7 wrote:

I'd rather not make assumptions for someone else. Yes, we will "eventually accept" it (not that I'm agonizing or anything), because you know, there's nothing we can do. But "liking" it, nah.White Oni wrote:You might surprise yourself with how much you'll end up liking it.

Kanzenshuu's. I mean, the translation comes from one who has been translating Dragon Ball for years and can easily differentiate between character voices while the other has a rushed translation in order to get an article posted and didn't bother discerning who's speaking.Retan wrote:On Kanzenshuu it says that Vegeta say's "Your history." but on Anime News Network it says Beerus saying something similar instead. Frieza should be the Lakers' new mascot.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Oh I didn't make an assumption, I made a claim...Drayenko wrote:I'd rather not make assumptions for someone else. And there's nothing wrong with that claim.
I might be surprised with how much I hate it.
That's a pretty open ended, non-judgmental claim... Not seeing an issue, I'm no trying to force anyone into liking it, I'm just calling people out who've already decided that the design is crap.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Go ahead and make a thread on which is more visibly different if you wish, I don't think the majority is gonna agree with you on SSJ God being the one that's significantly more different than SSJ. Make it on which was visibly more creative, I'm sure that'll turn to SSJ God's favour. By all means it's your opinion though. I guess a large amount of people were just blind since there was a huge pondering as to why the form looked so plain. Can't count how many people wondered why it looked similar to Kaioken. Highly doubt SSJ gave people these problems when it first appeared. Right away people could tell it was different. Even the characters in the movie first thought he looked the same on first glance. SSJ on first glance does not bring that issue. They even only say his hair is red and he's skinnier. That's the in-universe observation.White Oni wrote:The more distinct and visibly different form is SSJG yet you really prefer Ssj, despite it's extreme simplicity...

I'll do that while I look at the infinitely superior Freeza race characters in Xenoverse, that'd all be better picks than this.
All of Freeza's forms changed his look and standed on their own. His true form stood out the most among his forms as it changed the entire formula. Guess what? It's his most iconic look, the one that completely changed everything. This Super Saiyan Freeza hardly changes much at all. There are some changes, but not a whole lot to really stand out. That's my opinion. Others seem to enjoy it, so good for them I suppose.

It's definitely Vegeta who says "you're history". Beerus just says the line about how things are all the fault of someone (presumably Goku) being too soft.Retan wrote:On Kanzenshuu it says that Vegeta say's "You're history." but on Anime News Network it says Beerus saying something similar instead. Sometimes, I tweet things
We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Thanks Herms, and EA575. Good grief can't believe I couldn't recognize Vegeta's Japanese voice.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I THINK this assumption comes from the "Toriyama was lazy and Super Saiyajin is just uncolored hair;" therefore, some people mix the idea of SSJ being an "easier and faster way to draw" as "not different," BUT I could totally be wrong on this.dbzfan7 wrote: Go ahead and make a thread on which is more visibly different if you wish.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Well it was un coloured. However the hair style was completely different from base. They didn't want to colour it all black, so they changed it to white since manga's are usually black and white. Again even in the movie, they think at first Goku looks the same. SSJ at first glance didn't make Gohan go "Hm..he looks the same." Neither him nor Freeza had that reaction.Drayenko wrote:I THINK this assumption comes from the "Toriyama was lazy and Super Saiyajin is just uncolored hair," but I could be wrong.dbzfan7 wrote: Go ahead and make a thread on which is more visibly different if you wish.

So has it been explained why Freeza keeps his body in Hell and why he comes back as pieces rather than in his full body yet? Or, is that still considered a plothole?
Tim Duncan is dope and forever.
