I wasn't certain if I would get the Fiendish Broli from that quest or not; even if you did, I didn't know if I would have to actually make it to his part of the quest. Fortunately everything was okay with just defeating Vegeta. I can rest easy now, until the DLC...
Pretty sure I got one. Ill send it if I do.

Anyone like the special talks that the characters have in these games? I always like it in DBZ games where characters have cool things to say to each other before the fight starts? I was fighting Beerus with SSj4 Vegeta the other day and I find it cool that Vegeta was like "God of Destruction vs. Super Saiyan 4. How exciting!". I notice Super 17 and Future Trunks have a special talk with each other as well.

One question, how do you unlock parrallel quests 53 through 55? I already beat Broly and Bardock's story mode and so far I only have up to PQ 52...

I'm itching to unlock SSJ4 Goku to hear what he has to say about Beerus.

It seems like SSjG Goku has no special quote for Freeza or anyone in GT.

But really this game is a step backwards in terms of gameplay mechanics. At least in comparison to the Raging Blast games, the recent games like the kinect game and Ultimate Tenkaichi were also pretty poor. The only real selling point of this game is the character customisation and the unique story.
I disagree. I think it's a step forward compared to those games though that's not saying much since Raging Blast was already a huge step backwards in mechanics. It's certainly backwards compared to BT3 (to an extent) and especially Budokai 3/Shin Budokai/Infinite World.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

So I've just got two more PQs to complete (plenty to go back and try to Z Rank/beat all conditions/grind for items though), my characters is at Lv. 73, I've gotta work on mastering with other characters, and I've got a lot more Dragon Ball wishes to make. I know that sounds like a lot, and in a way it is, but...I've finally just about got this game beat! Getting snowed in a lot lately helps. :P

So has there been any word yet on the release of that first DLC pack? I know it's still early March and the game is still new, so...maybe towards the end of March?

I don't disagree that Raging Blast was a step backwards compared to BT3. And clearly the Shin Budokai games are the pinnacle of a true fighting game for a Dragon Ball game. But Xenoverse certainly isn't a step forward compared to Raging Blast. The fighting mechanics are pretty abysmal compared to RB 1 and 2. At least in RB 1 and 2 they give you the ability to use Ultimates during a combo and not be punished for it. The amount of times I've been beating down the opponent only to try and finish up a combo with an Ultimate and actually be hit by them while the animation is going on losing pretty much the same amount of health that I dish out with the ultimate(Because I went strike route rather than stacking all my points into Ki moves). Enemies recover way too fast to even be effective with Ultimates. Some of them have even whiffed due to the enemy just not being where he was when I had them in a combo because they recovered before the end of my animation.

I even had that problem against Beerus. Locked him into a combo and thought I would finish him up with Piccolo's Makankosappo only for it to not hit because a) Beerus was to the left of me when the attack shot and b) even if I was dead on with the attack he had initiated his Ultimate which makes him immune to mine.

Especially since this quest has the mission where Goku and Gohan spam the crap out of Super Kamehameha once you get to them.
You needn't suffer through the entirety of that particular mission repeatedly. That Z-Soul is a drop from Videl during that Glacier segment of the PQ, so if you don't see anything about getting an equip after defeating her, you can just pause then retry and do it over till it drops.
Oh so it's just there? Ok then that makes things easier. That's about the half way point.

When you complete the Broly and Bardocks story mode do you unlock the rest of the PQ's?

Till you get it and realize you still have the other half and will lose it unless you at least get to one of the Ultimate Finish requirements.

Wait so even if I get it, I need an Ultimate finish too? I mean I can beat the mission with some problems, but seriously?

Hmm? Anything you obtain should be kept so long as you win the PQ.

Also, HOLY SHIT. You want to talk about quick leveling up for characters, even level 1, with very little work? Do PQ53: the Broli Dragon Ball gathering mission. Pick two Piccolos, costume #4 to be safe, and Broli will attack them and Videl while you gather the three orbs. You'll jump relatively large levels at a time once you finish. First time gets you like ~10, then ~7, ~5, etc. Got to like level 35 in like 7 minutes. The DBs are usually near the same spots too, on the opposite side of the map from Broli, so there is very little risk of losing. It's a great starting buffer.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)

Does anybody know of a semi-definite way to get Z rank? I plan on (eventually) getting a Z rank on everything, but I feel it's so sporadic. I can get like 10 titles/requirements or whatever after battle but sometimes I only get C. Do you have to get the Ultimate Finishes?

I think you need to do the hidden conditions to raise it above C rank. That's what I think anyway.

PHEW. I finally finished all of the Parallel Quests. I had to do an online version to finish off #55 (I was doing okay health/performance wise, but just did not have enough time), and let me tell you...being in the middle of a match that cannot be paused, and then the phone rings...it's not fun.

But I pulled it off, and now I have all characters and outfits save for Omega Shenron...so now it's time to start in on Dragon Ball farming almost 24/7 (well, however much I play anyway) so I can wish for all the stuff needed from that. Yay?

I find 18 is the least annoying PQ for Dragon Balls. It's longer towards the end, but you instantly know whether you have to fight or not. Basically in the first few seconds of starting if a time patroller doesn't show up, restart. Repeat til one does and fight them. Repeat til they drop. Then do the rest of the Ginyu mission. The second part is longer than PQ2, but the first part takes away some of the tedium.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to hop between those two missions, since supposedly varying it up improves your chances of a Dragon Ball dropping too. Considering there's a fair amount of stuff left to wish for, I'd like this to be as painless as possible, gah.
