Beerus telling Freeza to destroy Planet Vegeta was unnecessary, Freeza was going to destroy it anyway out of fear of the Super Saiyan legend.
It undermines Freeza as a character.

From my perspective: Beerus did not ask Freeza to destroy Planet Vegeta.
At most, he was hoping to do it sometime, and Freeza did it for him.

I wonder if Whis checked in with Beerus first to ask if he'd be cool with his teacher teaching Gokû and Vegeta? If Whis decided to on his own, Beerus is in for a surprise when he wakes up.

Yeah that's how I took it. Beerus was asleep and Freeza beat him to the punch.

The fact that Beerus wanted to destroy Planet Vegeta should be an interesting plot point if it gets brought up in the movie. Would be interesting to see how Vegeta would react to that...

I think Whis did decide by his own since he's all alone with the nature while Beerus sleeps for who knows how much time (this time was only three years).
So maybe he was bored and said: Why not?
I'm expecting Beerus being surprised they are in his house and maybe he wants them out since they do too much noise
Sleeping until the tournament is over.

Here's a little something something from Dragon Ball Xenoverse about this.
Beerus: "Oh it's Freeza! It seems that you destroyed planet Vegeta just as I asked."
Freeza: "Of course! I plan on destroying anyone I don't like..."

To go backwards a little, people really shouldn't get their hopes up for a 120 minute movie as you would be setting yourself up for disappointment if it's revealed to be shorter.
Going from a 85 minute theatrical movie to a 120 minute theatrical movie seems way too good to be true.
I looked through the One Piece, Naruto, Fairy Tail, Bleach,, Neon Genesis Evangelion, HXH and Pokemon movies and none of them are that long.
The Last Naruto Movie is 115 minutes and One Piece Strong World is 113 minutes and they're the longest.
It's not impossible but personally I think people should expect around 100-110 minutes which would still be a lot longer than Battle of God's theatrical cut.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I don't really like the idea of Beerus having forced Freeza to destroy planet Vegeta... it kind of ruins the whole angle I've had for 18 years that Freeza did it out of fear of what the saiyans could become. I liked that it was a personal thing between Freeza and his lack of respect for and fear of the saiyan race.
At the same time, I know the real answer is that the movie never made it really clear so all these sources are probably making educated guesses as to what exactly was implied.

Didn't he say in the manga preview that they woke him up ? it looked like he already knew.Chuquita wrote:I wonder if Whis checked in with Beerus first to ask if he'd be cool with his teacher teaching Gokû and Vegeta?

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Ah, I think I'll stick with this take on it unless something else comes up. So, Beerus wanted Freeza to destroy Planet Vegeta, we know that much. Maybe he actually asked Freeza, but either way, Freeza destroyed the planet because he personally wanted to. He wouldn't have destroyed it merely because Beerus wanted him to. Even if Beerus was a gazillion times stronger, it wouldn't fit Freeza's personality to take orders.SSJ God Gogeta wrote:Here's a little something something from Dragon Ball Xenoverse about this.

he said that he can't sleep as he throws a kiai to them, but that doesn't confirms he knew, maybe he just run to the source of the noise and then he notices they are there... maybe not?sintzu wrote:Didn't he say in the manga preview that they woke him up ? it looked like he already knew.Chuquita wrote:I wonder if Whis checked in with Beerus first to ask if he'd be cool with his teacher teaching Gokû and Vegeta?

I think it'll be in the movie but I doubt he's chocked at Freeza's power,I think it's at whatever he tells him at the end.Chuquita wrote: They reused(?) the "shocked Vegeta" from BOG in the earlier trailer; but that may have just been something they whipped together real fast to have a reaction shot and may not even use that in the actual movie.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
One thing that sort of bothers me about this is, up until now it seemed that no one outside of Goku ever really had the privilege of knowing any Gods on any kind of personal level. He was the only character who seemed to be able to meet, train under or talk to them. But here we have Beerus, a God of destruction, who seems to have personally talked to both King Vegeta and Freeza. Nitpicky thing yeah, but it does seem odd to me. Freeza never came across to me as someone who would even believe in Gods or anything of the sort. He seemed like someone who would laugh at the idea of Gods being real or anyone being more powerful then he was.Herms wrote:Ah, I think I'll stick with this take on it unless something else comes up. Yes,I think he was in full control of the fight which leads Freeza to try to destroy him with the earth using that energy ball we see in the trailers which forces Goku to absorb it with Ssjg which drains up all his power giving Freeza the edge he needed to defeat him.TheGmGoken wrote:Anyone believe that Goku is going to defeat Freeza but something prevents him from finishing the job?

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Beerus does seem a lot more "hands-on" compared to the other gods. Maybe because of the whole "God of Destruction" thing: the other gods mostly just discretely watch things from a distance, but when your job is to destroy stuff, I guess you have to get out there. In fact, Beerus' MO seems to mostly be wandering around hanging out with people until somebody pisses him off enough for him to go into full-blown "I'll destroy everything!" mode.

Re: about Beerus wanting to destroy Planet Vegeta:
I will also stick with my theory that he wanted to destroy it, but never did because he was lazy to go there and knew Freeza was there at the moment so he expected him to destroy it in his place.

as I said, theres a chance that Freeza doesn't know him, since in the manga he said his father warned him about Beerus and Buu, but he never states he knows Beerus or something...bleed0range wrote: One thing that sort of bothers me about this is, up until now it seemed that no one outside of Goku ever really had the privilege of knowing any Gods on any kind of personal level. Well, we know for Earth at least, multiple people have trained under Kami, given that Goku was never the first one to make it up there.bleed0range wrote:One thing that sort of bothers me about this is, up until now it seemed that no one outside of Goku ever really had the privilege of knowing any Gods on any kind of personal level. So just look at that and then take into account how big the universe is. There's no way others wouldn't have also run into some.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
You do realize you've somewhat contradicted yourself? Freeza returning is fan-service? As in Toriyama has descended from on high proclaiming "I have heard the demand for Freeza's return and I am here to answer it?" Where have you seen this demand? Freeza is coming back because Toriyama got the idea for the story by listening the Maximum the Hormone's song, not any semblance of desire from a very vocal fanbase. That's why it was such a surprise in the first place. It's completely out of left field. This whole thing is. What would have been predictable is a movie with a new villain pulled from no where. Instead we're getting Freeza, Jaco, and a whole host of other wonderful surprises.Dyno wrote: Freeza's return is fan-service.
