The TV Special is in fact canon, get your facts straight, dude.GokuRules987 wrote: Again your wrong, Bardock power level being 10,000 was non canon. I dont remember if it was vegeta or nappa who said that Bardock power level was actually around 940 when Gohan was powering up but it sure wasent bigger than Nappa's. And since majority of saiyan population werent able to become elites or have a power level of more than 4,000 there is no evidence that zenkai boosts really were effective for them. There could have been other roles that played in the factor, such as their lifestyle or the chance that a saiyan who was heavily injured during the fight didn't make it.
Neither Vegeta nor Nappa had never refered to Bardock in the main story, only Freeza but in a flashback only. Besides, if Bardock PL was around 940 so why he wasn't killed by many Freeza soldiers with average 2,000 PL, are you serious?
And something that was never said in the TV Special is that his 10,000 PL was after or before he had left the Healing Machine, a really interesting question that I would like to know
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
And where are you getting this fact? And canon, in what sense? One could say that, as far as the manga goes, Bardock is canon but his story in the TV special isn't. And since the TV Special story wasn't written by Toriyama, that could (would, even) make DB- more canon than the special.Kakarot9001 wrote:The TV Special is in fact canon, get your facts straight, dude.GokuRules987 wrote: Again your wrong, Bardock power level being 10,000 was non canon. I love the Special, and personally like to think of it as what officially happened. But I wouldn't call it concrete "canon". (And using "Canon" as far as DB goes can be a crap-shoot anyway)

There will a post-credits scene, most likely.SaiyanBaller22 wrote:How do you guys believe the movie will end? I'm really hoping for a cliffhanger
As for me, I would like to have another god being behind all this.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Blog's finally updated with a comment from Masaharu Sato, Kame-sennin's voice actor. I'll get to translating it...sometime today.

Nop. The TV Special is indeed canon not because of Toriyama or whatelse, only because it fits like TV Special 2 (Trunks History), Movie 9, 13 and 14
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
DB Minus also fits and contradicts the TV Special to a certain extent.Kakarot9001 wrote:Big Momma wrote:And where are you getting this fact? And canon, in what sense? Episode of Bardock also fits, but it's not canon.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
That's not how being canon works. It fitting doesn't make it canon, it isn't canon, Dragon Ball Minus is canon and the TV special does not fit with that.Nop. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Just because it "fits" doesn't make it canon. Especially not when disregarding the creator himself. I understand that DB canon is a huge mess, but it seems to me that you don't understand how canon typically works.Kakarot9001 wrote:

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Well, canon debates shouldn't really be in this thread, unless you are talking about contradictions in this movie as compared to the manga, but even then, I'd try to keep it low. Also, there is no established canon, so you can't just say that what you think is canon is absolutely canon. Most people take the author's work as canon, a reasonable thought. So, when people say "canon" in discussion, they usually mean what Toriyama makes or is heavily involved with, to some the manga that ended decades ago, to some the manga plus minus and the new movies, to some all of the Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z anime, to some all of Dragon Ball, Z, and GT; some truly don't care for it, as it is usually introduced as a strawman's argument.Kakarot9001 wrote:Big Momma wrote:And where are you getting this fact? TL;DR make a new thread for the canon discussion. It is pretty subjective, but you should be able to rationalize something.

Agreed. The canonical discussions can go elsewhere, and we're up to our seventy billionth warning that battle power / strength comparisons belong elsewhere, too.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I can't actually say that I believe it will end this way, but I did consider the following as a possible cliffhanger ending.SaiyanBaller22 wrote:How do you guys believe the movie will end? I'm really hoping for a cliffhanger
For whatever reason, Whis decides to offer Freeza the job of God of destruction of another universe to Freeza and he says yes. So Whis opens a portal to another universe, and Freeza pops on through. The people who survived the assault travel to Namek and use their dragon balls to make everything groovy.
But everything isn't groovy. When Whis sent Freeza to one universe, he unwittingly allowed the god of destruction from yet another universe into ours. And this new god is very powerful and very practical, and she has decided that it's unnecessary to have twelve universes when one will suffice. And, as the show ends, she blows up the earth in order to begin the destruction of the seventh universe.
Now, I don't think it'll end like this, but I did think it would be very interesting if the shot of that planet being destroyed we saw in the trailer ended up being the very last scene in the movie.
And now, on to something unrelated to random, made up theories. In the comic, Freeza says that he'll be stronger than Majin Buu with just four months of training. How can Freeza possibly know how powerful Majin Buu is? I suppose King Cold could have told him, but then how would Cold have known? Since the Earthlings ability to read power levels was considered amazing, I'm assuming that King Cold himself had not personally known Buu and sensed his power level. There also didn't exist a scouter that could read Buu's level. After all, Freeza himself mentions that a scouter can't even read his second form's level and has to guesstimate at what it is. Since a scouter can't read second form Freeza, there's no way that a scouter could read Buu.
Still, Freeza seems to know what Buu's power level is, at least enough to know that he'll be able to beat it. Unless his thinking is more of the " If I train for four months, I'll definitely be stronger than anybody, even the legendary Majin Buu (even though I've got no clue how strong that guy actually is.)" variety.

I agree with you this 100%. I still don't understand why some fans have a big issue if GT is retcon for good? I mean it's not like the series is going to be erase off from the face of the Earth. GT would be view as a AU series. GT is a thing of the past and time to move on. Let Toriyama give us more fresh and brand new ideas to the series. If he give us movies that take place after Goku left with Uub then he can give us the proper DBZ sequel that we have been waiting for.Doctor. wrote:Can we please just forget about GT?

What would be better is if it happens after the credits without any context.Sedorna wrote: I did think it would be very interesting if the shot of that planet being destroyed we saw in the trailer ended up being the very last scene in the movie

Goku: We defeated Freeza!
Credits roll for 5 minutes
Straight cut to planet exploding
The end.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Like I said the other day they should take a leaf out of Marvel and DC's book and create one big story that was split into two movies released only a year apart. Then the first part would end on a cliffhanger.
Something like that would work well with a story that introduced other verses.
Why not do something like that? They wouldn't be so restricted for time like the others if they made it so the big battles all happened in the sequel. It'd be like a 4 hour movie.
