How can SSJ be the essence of the series when well more than half the series, SSJ didn't even exist? Of the 42 volumes of the manga, it takes to volume 27 for our first Super Saiyan to appear. Pretty sure something has to exist for at least half of a series to be the "essence".Kakarot9001 wrote:I hate the main Saiyans fighting in their base form, I like Super Saiyans transformations and the Super Saiyan itself is the essence of the series, that's why one of the most memorable episodes is when Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan for the first time.

Bad guy is super strong.
Good guy is not as strong.
Bad guy kicks good guy around.
Good guy trains and becomes stronger.
Bad guy can't win.
Bad guy gains some kind of power up or upper hand unexpectedly!
Oh no! Now bad guy is stronger then good guy!
Good guy does something to be stronger then bad guy!
.... on and on until good guy wins. It's almost funny during the buu arc. But my point is that it doesn't matter if it's super saiyan, a new attack or ability or just getting stronger. It's just about working hard to better themselves and win the day. All of early Dragon Ball didn't need SSJ transformations to convey the same feelings and be awesome.

Site updated with today's blog post translation:
Hey, Bulma here!
The premiere’s just 37 days away!
Today we’ve got…ohoho, now this is a surprise.
I’ve received a letter from Trunks…the one in the future!
I wonder how handsome he’s become!
Hoping this letter finds you well, mother
I have heard a rumor about Freeza being resurrected over in your world. It seems that things have once again changed from the history I know, due to my meddling in the past…
But I wonder how in the world Freeza could possibly come back to life, after I hacked him into pieces and wiped him out with my ki.
No, I should have fully confirmed that I had obliterated him such that he could never be revived. I am truly sorry that my weakness brought this trouble upon you. I wonder if you will be alright.
Were it possible, I would like to travel to the past again and fight alongside Son Goku and the others, but I am sure they have all grown far stronger since I last saw them. No doubt father has kept up his training as well.
I will likewise train diligently to protect my world and my mother here in the future. Know that I am praying for your victory from this distant land.
My best wishes that you and father stay safe and sound,
Trunks
Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?
Sometimes, I tweet things
We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Until now, the thought hadn't really crossed my mind about how much I'd like to see "Future Trunks" return just to get a gauge on how he perceives the changes in these characters. It would also be interesting to see him run into his own alternate timeline self haha. But really, how is Trunks sending letters through time!? haha. Where did this rumor come from? lol.Herms wrote:Site updated with today's blog post translation:Hey, Bulma here!

The stuff bolded red makes that rumor about Vegeta punching Frieza out of existence quite plausible.Herms wrote:Site updated with today's blog post translation:Hey, Bulma here!

Weird. Why is he worried? He knows Freeza is a weakling. Also, him not knowing how Freeza could possibly come back doesn't make any sense.Herms wrote:Site updated with today's blog post translation:Hey, Bulma here!

Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I'm reminded of why I felt so sad when Future Trunks left at the end of the Cell arc. I really missed him.
I gather from his letter though time that he won't be joining the cast this movie outside of flashbacks.

I'm aware of that. These were probably written by a low level peon, too. I just think it's fun to nitpick them.

It would be interesting to see what threats may present themselves in future trunks timeline. Wait, doesn't new namek exist in his timeline too? Couldn't he have wished everyone back to life? I only just thought Of that.

I guess "Burning Attack" wasn't a very good attack for Trunks to use.
Not only was Dr. Gero able to make Cell from Freeza's tissue, the dragon was able to piece back Freeza's remains.
