Yeah for sure, but lets not forget the 2 years worth of DLC were getting for Xenoverse. So I would say 2017 is likely... 2016 would be way too soon....Lord Beerus wrote:
I honestly want Dimps to take their time to work out all the kinks and make sure that Xenoverse is great a launch. Huh? They're are only going to be three DLC packs released and they're all going to be released this year and the first one is set to be released this month.Psycho50501 wrote:Yeah for sure, but lets not forget the 2 years worth of DLC were getting for Xenoverse. Re: Video Games sales: Xenoverse 295k
Seeing how well Xenoverse turn out then I think it's very likely that Namco Bandai will hire Dimps to do another game. I don't see a Xenoverse sequel happening until 2017 seeing how much time and effort went into the first game. I think hiring Spike back will be a very bad idea since it can hurt sales again. I think Dimps didn't return after 2008 could be that Namco Bandai wanted sales for Burst Limit to reach the same level as Sparking 3 and thought having Spike will allow them to do reach the same level of success that the first three Sparking games did. Spike is also cheaper to hire which is why we were stuck with them for a few years after 2009.

I think it's pretty likely that we'll see Xenoverse 2 from DIMPS in 2017. Next year's game will be one of two things I think, A Zenkai Battle Royale console port, or a new Spike game that builds off of Raging Blast 2's roster. The second one wouldn't be too bad, they just need to simplify the gameplay and have a stupid amount of characters. If it is a Raging Blast 3/Sparking 4 I would hope that it's been in development since Ultimate Tenkaichi. We'll find out in at least 3 months what we're getting next year, I just hope it isn't a rushed sequel to Xenoverse.Hellspawn28 wrote:Seeing how well Xenoverse turn out then I think it's very likely that Namco Bandai will hire Dimps to do another game. Another thing to note about the whole thing, Bandai might be looking at the yearly model of Western games where they have two different teams release their games one year after eachother with two year dev cycles for each game(This is the model for games like Assassin's Creed and was the model for Call of Duty, but that has been changed to 3 different developers with three year dev cycles). It would be much smarter than having one team try to put out a sequel every year.

I think we might not get anything in 2016 at all. We didn't get anything in 2013 and it will be up to Namco Bandai if they want another game next year.

Re: Video Games sales: Xenoverse 295k
Dimps should be the only developer for the Dragon Ball Z console games from now on and they should do a game every two years. If they could make a game once a year that had notable additions and improvements over it's predecessor then I'd be fine with that but usually such a thing requires a good two years.
After making three increasingly poor DBZ games in a row I hope that they never bring back Spike. It'd also just oversaturate the DBZ video game brand even more.
This isn't Call of Duty or Assassins Creed they don't need to keep pumping out a game every year under different developers. The games would have much greater success if Dimps made a series out of Xenoverse and they took the time to improve on them with each one.

We got DBZ for Kinect and Budokai HD collection in 2013. I'm pretty sure there is a contract in place that requires Bandai release a console DBZ game every year.Hellspawn28 wrote:I think we might not get anything in 2016 at all. EDIT: NPD results came out, for the month of February Xenoverse was the 7th best selling retail game, the 10th was Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate selling just under 300k and the best seller was Majora's Mask 3D which sold 515K. By those two numbers It's likely Xenoverse sold around 350k physical copies in the US from February 24th to February 28th.

Shit, really? God damn, well they could still have a yearly release contract that goes by the fiscal year, in which case Battle of Z and Xenoverse still fell in place for a "yearly schedule".DBZAOTA482 wrote:Fix'd.ArchedThunder wrote:We got DBZ for Kinect and Budokai HD collection in 2012. I'm sure Namco Bandai will give Dimps until at least 2017 to get Xenoverse. And I also really hope Spike never come as well. They were given the ball to run with and fucked up consecutively. They're second rate in my eyes now. And that's shame as a Dragon Ball Z fan, I loved Tenkaichi 2 and 3. But I guess you could say they got complacent and thought they could ride off the coat tails of their earlier success in previous games as opposed to coming up with something fresh.Bullza wrote:Dimps should be the only developer for the Dragon Ball Z console games from now on and they should do a game every two years. Then it's well on it's way to selling a million units globally.ArchedThunder wrote:Just in case no one saw my edit

With Japanese, European and American sales combined I wouldn't be surprised if it's sitting somewhere around 900k wordwide at this exact moment, and that's just retail units.Lord Beerus wrote:Then it's well on it's way to selling a million units globally.ArchedThunder wrote:Just in case no one saw my edit

It really sold over 300,000 copies in US in just 5 days?
Vgchartz must be way off then right? I know they don't include digital sales but that surely wouldn't make up the difference. The NPD only lists the game as PS3/PS4/X360/XONE so I'm not sure if they're even including the PC/Steam sales into that.
So just between US and Japan that's at least 450,000 copies sold.

I told ya vgchartz isn't accurate, it's no substitution, even when numbers aren't currently available.Bullza wrote:It really sold over 300,000 copies in US in just 5 days?

Also NPD doesn't track digital sales, Xenoverse is digital only on PC.
