So, other than missing characters bits, anything else in the Chapter?

Sorry if that's been told already, i kinda had to skip here straight from page...815, i think.

Hmm, probably... I hope this movie to have some huge inconsistencies that it could make pretty hard to fit into the main timeline, then I could enjoy this movie as a side-thing just like I did with most DBZ Movies (Except for Movie 9 and 13)
Gold_Jacobson wrote:Besides complaints about "Weak Gohan", I didn't see anyone mention that we now have confirmation on how Ultimate/Mystic Gohan works.
It now seems to be canonically confirmed that Old Kai brought Gohan beyond his limits, however he would lose that power if he didn't train.
This shouldn't be surprising since that is exactly how it works in the real world. Doesn't matter if you were the best a few years ago, if you don't train, you are going to lose it.

Overall, I think it's great to get closure on how the powerup worked. Obviously, some people still think that it was a permanent powerup... This seems to prove that isn't the case.
Where is your source, pal?
Old Kai only really pointed out that he could bring out his latent power. He never said it was a permanent thing. Makes sense that just because your potential is brought out doesn't mean you can keep it without training. It's like if someone could magically give me a six pack of abs... doesn't mean that they would stay that way without continuing to keep them up. If I got lazy I'd gain weight and lose them.

You know... considering that nobody has mentioned the army yet, I wonder if anyone of them actually can sense the men he's brought with him. I sincerely think that Gohan had the right idea not bringing along Goten or Trunks; if they think this is just versus Freeza, I can totally understand why he'd want to reduce their involvement. I will admit, though, when things do go tits up, it's going to be really weird if Goten and Trunks don't at least realize something's going on.

Well unless Freeza learns to conceal his power, no way are they gonna just stand by. They'll sense a strong evil energy and want to know what's up. When Mecha Freeza came back, I think they only read Freeza, and his dad's power. I don't think the others even registered. Though that kinda makes the point of how 1000 mooks are really nothing. I mean what's the bigger gap? 1000 mooks probably around Raditz tier or lower since Roshi is useful compared to Boo saga tiers? Or 16 vs Semi Perfect Cell where 16 couldn't even budge, flinch, or hurt Cell with a punch.

Them not being in the trailer at all not even background characters scare the living hell outta. Surely they won't just ignore them right..... Right? You can even have them protect Pan. Before I used to think they're hiding new design but now I'm starting to think they're just not in the movie. Not even cameo....

This has to be a Flashpoint storyline right? This time travels and reckon shit...

My "Dragon Ball to the Future: Part 2" theory was all shot down, I thought, but it seems weird to saddle Whis with genuine timeline time travel powers instead of having him just be very fast and then do nothing with it. I dunno.

I feel like the main reason they don't want Goten and Trunks to come along is because Freeza is unlike any enemy they've faced. Sure Buu was horrible, but Freeza might be worse. Freeza doesn't just kill you... Freeza stabs you through the chest and bounces you up and down while lauging, mocking you to your friends all while your blood runs off onto his head.

Or he picks you up off the ground with his ki and tears you apart from the inside-out. Then laughs.

Goten and Trunks are still kids at that point, and the good guys probably don't think the situation is as desperate as it was in the old days. So they probably think they can afford to just leave the kids home, go mop up Freeza and be home before dinner.

But then they end up wrong.

You're right. He's a pathetic weakling compared to the guys they were going toe to toe with as eight year olds.

Yes, that's so much worse than what Super Buu did. I mean, he was so clean and detached about the whole "supervillain" thing. Compared to Freeza, who beat Vegeta to death, beat Goku and Gohan to near-death, ordered the deaths of a hundred Namekians, blew up Dende and Krillin, and nearly killed Piccolo by shooting a hole through his chest, Buu only...

-Killed a man by forcing his whole body down the guy's throat, laughing like a madman the whole time.

-Casually killed several billion people by shooting holes through their chests just because someone asked him to wait an hour.

-Killed Goten's mother in front of him by stomping on her.

-Ate people while they were still aware and conscious.

-Murdered Trunks' moth + all of their friends, and then laughed about it.

-Beat Gohan to the point that he was basically crippled, being completely unable to even move or do anything but sit there in a pile of his own blood and shame, powerless to stop Buu from continuing to beat him. All while mocking him about how he can't protect his family and planet.

-Ate both Goten and Trunks alive.

I mean, besides him, the only villain Goten and Trunks ever confronted was fatso. And we all know that he couldn't have been as sadistic or prone to causing trauma as Freeza. I mean it's not like he beat Trunks' father to death in front of him, wiped out billions of people for the lulz, and punched a guy's head off...

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

The new manga text that was just posted. Gohan says he isn't as strong anymore. The sentence you quoted was me describing what we now know, Kai brought him up past his peak, now we know that it wasn't permanent.

Kai gave Gohan steroids, but then Gohan stopped boosting himself, now he is flabby.

My point was that Buu is just a monster who doesn't necessarily know any better, he is fairly mindless in most of his forms. However Freeza is not and Freeza takes delight in what he does which may make him worse. But you're right! Point taken! They're both pretty bad! I concede!!

Well, thanks to TheDevilsCorpse's pictures, here's Toriyama's comment:
It all came down to deciding on the theme of Freeza’s revival; after all, Freeza’s a character with a strong sense of individuality, which is why even a forgetful guy like me remembered him really well. What’s more, I was also trying to increase the action scenes this time around, so story ideas just kept popping up at a good rate. The only thing that was left was figuring out how to upgrade Freeza once he came back to life. Fortunately, the characters Beerus and Whis (who came from a hint from the scriptwriter of the last film, “Battle of Gods”) were really useful too. By throwing all this together, finishing up the story was much smoother than normal. But it was super tough on all the animators (laughs). If you have a good time watching the film, I’ll cry out of sheer happiness! Kyaah! (an old man’s cry of joy)
