Same here. I'm abandoning ship this coming Sunday. It's gonna be a loooong 2 month wait without checking this thread.
Just make sure to stay away from the YouTube comments. They have no remorse and actively seek to spoil the movie, though some summarize it for others to know and a few just to be mean.
Yayyyyy! 100 posts!

It'll be worth it, although I'm pretty confident in my ability to somehow end up spoiling the entire movie for myself regardless.

I'm most likely gonna be gone most of the day (but should be here in the early early morning) so I'm gonna miss the thread-craziness for the most part, unfortunately. T_T
Will check in when I can though. I like spoilers.

I know about as much as I want to know at the moment... but I'm gonna have a hard time staying away. I failed at doing that for Battle of Gods so maybe this time I will (doubt it). I kind of don't wanna know until I see it if Vegeta or Goku wins. In the end it doesn't matter though, it's all about the journey not the destination. I knew the gist of the entire story of Dragon Ball before I even read/watched any of it.
I agree, having spent so much time in this thread over the past several months it will be very hard to stay away especially when there will be so many here talking about it.
I plan to see the movie at the start of May so I'm gonna have to try and fight the urge to keep away from this site, the YouTube comments, Saiyan Island and IMDB for what will it be? Like a month? Could have only been a couple weeks if not for the previews.
If I wasn't going to go see it I would have probably have read the spoilers like I did with BoG but I'd rather not this time.
I managed to avoid most of the spoilers for Battle of Gods, but there was no avoiding the SSJG eruption. I just hope idiots don't post reviews on Youtube with a major spoiler within the thumbnail. My feed has done that so much with the whole "you watched this, so maybe you'll like this!!!" feature.

Oh man, you're telling me. Honestly I held off from watching the trailer for like, a week because I wanted to keep as much of the movie in tact as possible, ESPECIALLY Freeza's transformation, but you can imagine how that didn't work out.

Isn't there a preview screening or something?
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Oh yeah that's the absolute worst. I have The Mentalist on the stuff I like on Facebook and some time last year they just put up RED JOHN REVEALED and a big freaking picture showing the guy...living in the UK we hadn't got to that bit...totally ruined it.

At 1pm, Japan Time on Sunday (which is Monday at 3am, EST) is when the first preview screening begins.
(At least, I thought I saw 13:00 listed somewhere.)
Meaning by probably 5am EST at the latest is when the spoilers spill.
Gyt Kaliba wrote:Wait, am I missing/forgetting something? What's happening this Sunday that's gonna be spoiler crazy?
It's taking place Monday evening (or at least it is in Osaka), so it will be Monday morning for most of the world, but there's the first round of preview screenings in Japan.

I hope Funi just gives us an exact date after the Japanese premier. I believe summer starts on June 21st, so it'll be some time after that since they're just giving us a release window.

The entire Kanzenshuu staff spends a significant amount of their personal time, effort, and even money keeping this place going so that you guys can use it for free, and all we ask for in return is that you follow the rules and do your best to make this a worthwhile community. If you don't like the rules and don't want to follow them, you don't have to post here; nobody is forcing you to. But if you're going to post here, humor us.
In this case in particular, just writing a one word response isn't even necessarily the main problem. The problem is quoting an enormously long post by someone else just to offer a one word response at the end. This makes it so that anyone reading your post has to scroll down through an awful lot of text just to get to your actual comment (and if they've been following the thread, then odds are they've already read the comment you're quoting). If you've got an actual significant response at the end then this isn't so bad, but if you've just quoted a huge post simply to say "cool!", it's a little annoying. It might be easy on your end to just hit "Quote" and type in a one word response, but responding to very long posts like this makes the page needlessly cluttered and difficult for other people to read. If you haven't got much to say in response, at the very least please take the time to edit the quote so that it only features a part of the original comment rather than the entire thing.

That is a classic case of Late Arrival Spoiler. TV Shows and Anime do this all the time.
Spoiler:
Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.
Akira Toriyama wrote:Drawing Dragon Ball again reminded me of two things--how much I love it, and how much I never want to do it again.
Kunzait_83 wrote:And if you're upset because all this new material completely invalidates the tabletop RPG rulebook-sized statistical system and flowchart for the characters' "canonical Power Levels" that you'd been working on painstakingly for the last bunch of years now... well I don't think there's a kind, non-blunt way of saying this, but that's 100% entirely your own misguided fault for buying so deeply into all this nonsensical garbage in the first place. And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I know I'm definitely planning to go to sleep early/wake up super early to catch the spoilers before I leave for the day.
Shueisha's kept us in the dark about so much plot wise, I gotta know!
Bulma: Hey, Bulma here!
Just 25 days to go until the premiere!
Today Videl’s come over!
Videl: Hello! Is this a good idea, Bulma? I’m not really anybody important…
Bulma: Don’t worry about it! It’s been pretty much all men so far, so it was turning into a pigsty around here! But never mind that, how’s Pan doing?
Videl: She’s fine, thanks for asking. And so cute…! Gohan absolutely adores her.
Bulma: I’m sure Gohan will make a great father.
Videl: Oh, and sometimes Piccolo stops by to play with her.
Bulma: ……?! Piccolo!? Well, as long as he doesn’t teach her the Makankosappo or anything bad like that…
Videl: Don’t even joke about that, Bulma!
Piccolo: …………………
That description of Piccolo playing with Pan seems at odds with Piccolo's reaction to her in the Toyotaro manga adaptation. Not sure which of these really counts as "canon" (OK, probably not the blog where Bulma somehow knows she's in a movie and introduces comments from voice actors), but it'll be interesting to see how Piccolo interacts with Pan in the actual movie.
I hope it's canon. Piccolo had a soft spot for kids going all the way back to Gohan, so taking care of Gohan's kid too is right up his alley. I can just see it now, Pan calling him "Mr. Piccolo" just like Gohan did at her age.
