Or it is simply worse than previous arcs and no amount of genuine "giving it a chance" will change it.

The Buu arc is a mixed bag, I'll take much of GT over most of that, especially that ending. GT isn't great, but it has a charm to it. My biggest wish is that people would stop condemning it for things that also happen in Toriyama's story.
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

Too bad that this "simply" is not all that simple. But I am used to people not understanding how to talk about different relations. I am done talking with people about that who are all just the same so don't bother answering again. This is no use.

EDIT; And they didn't give it a chance is no excuse. Hating something without reason makes no real sense as argument except peer pressure.

A lot of those people didn't even watched GT.
They just follow the hate flow. No different from Yamcha, Krillin and other jokes.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

And if they did watch it and still think it's subpar compared to DB/DBZ? Excuses like "didn't give it a chance/didn't watch" are no better arguments than hating on GT without reason

I gave it a chance and gave up after episode 17 for a variety of reasons. I know it gets better later on but the first 16 episodes, and Pan left an awful taste in my mouth that I want none of.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Oh Pan. A character with such a gigantic potential. Gets to be an annoying thing in GT.

Hey, remember that one time Chi Chi and Videl decided to go after Super 17 with a broom? Man...those were...bad stupid times. :eh: Another example of why I dislike GT.
ABED wrote:]Once again, lets heap crap on GT for something also happens in DB. I'm not talking about the particulars, but I'm sure people can find a ridiculous "this character his this ability but doesn't use it in this fight". Please stop pretending that it's relegated to GT.
It was a Freeza tier fighter being manhandled by someone who is less likely weaker than Captain Ginyu, in a shonen anime. There is nothing in Dragonball or Z that is akin to that. Nothing.

Do you mean Pan? :o Because she is supposed to be stronger than Buu.

He almost got Videl killed in Battle of Gods tho.

I'm not digging on the fact she's not a Super Saiyan. Why do I dislike GT? Because Power Levels are bullshit normally, and in GT they're bullshit to the Nth degree! Pan is not even formally trained, and gets by on luck more than anything, and now I'm being told that she's stronger than Buu? Bullshit. Even Giving her SSJ2 won't fix this.

The end of the manga was an outlier from an otherwise very well written show. Yes, Z makes some of the mistakes GT did, but it doesn't do so in nearly as drastic a manner, and it has it's own strengths to make up for whatever shortcomings it may have had, imo.

Super Saiyan 4 is a really well-designed form that naturally evolves from combining the two great abilities of the Saiyan race. The crap transformations of the new movies can't hold a candle to it.

Battlefield Earth and Batman & Robin has enjoyable things in it and I give them a real chance. The movie is still shit. Most people that dislike GT seen the show and have their reasons why they don't like it.

I have never actually met anyone who told me GT was better then DB or DBZ. I've seen lots of people try to defend it as "not as bad as everyone says" many times... but mostly everyone agrees it's not as good. And it's sort of in the same way the TOEI movies mostly don't stack up to the manga/anime in story quality. There are things to like about it, yeah, but it's not as good. It's pretty unanimous among fans. I've never heard a fan say any arc of GT was better then an arc of DBZ. It's hard to compete with stuff like Goku "helping" Gohan do a one-handed KameHameHa on his own... becoming a man and taking his father's place. Stuff as strong as that just isn't in GT.
