Well, it was technically the "worst wish in history" and true "despair" was created as Freeza did destroy the Earth, no matter what way you look at it. The "despair" just didn't happen to last long.

She does say she's never seen Freeza before after being told by Jaco about him coming to the earth, and Jaco shows her an ugly likeness of Freeza that he drew himself. After actually seeing Freeza for the first time, Bulma says "your likeness was more accurate than I thought."

I don't suppose there's a close-up shot of this picture? It sounds like it'd make a funny avatar.

I just read the summary, pretty satisfied with everything, at least Vegeta had the upper hand against Frieza which is what I wanted to see anyway. I look forward to seeing scenes with Krillin and 18 the most as well as other character interactions.

However I am disgusted with what I have read about Piccolo, so disappointing.

So what, exhausted fighters constantly keep their transformed states active unless its really taxing like SSJ3 or they're almost out of Ki.
Exhausted means completely drained and extremely tired, which, IMO, it doesn't sound like Freeza was, but interpret it however you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cell is an idiot. At least in his perfect form.

Hey, cool! Thanks a ton, Kei! I'll quit asking questions now. :)

Very pleased to see Toriyama remembering these details.

I must say, I haven't heard a single thing about this movie that I truly dislike. The only weird thing so far is the final battle, which sounds awkwardly staged, but I'll reserve judgment until I see the whole thing in motion. This sounds like a fun little romp. If the absolute worst thing I can say about it is that it's a better-written take on the formula used in the first 13 DBZ movies, then that'll be just fine.

The longer summary sounds much better than the snippets we were getting. I know this place has not been particularly optimistic, but I was and it dimmed a bit. Now I feel better though.

I meant in the battle field. He schooled Trunks. I think he's arguably the smartest villain in the series when it comes to fighting.

Thanks for the summary, fellas.

The movie seems like it's missing some plot points, but I'm still excited to finally see it. Based on the summary, at least we get to see the other Z fighters actually fight which is much better than what we've gotten in the last few years since DB has become a party that only Saiyans are invited to.

I can't really call the Vegeta situation until I see it myself. We can only go by the fact that he may have been nervous by the summary, but I can't imagine why he would've been nervous. Maybe the whole history with Frieza has more of an effect on him than he's realized. The dude did cry his heart out before he was eventually killed by him. But I'm also happy to see him get his due. Why people are harping on the fact that he fought a weakened Frieza is beyond me. Give the Vegeta his props for achieving a new level and whoopin Frieza's ass.

I agree with the folks that say the movie as a whole seems more like a build up to something bigger. I do like the fact that we learn how Goku's and Vegeta's weaknesses affect them and their fighting. There doesn't seem to be much development overall, but I think it will be enjoyable. I for one am just happy to still get new content from a franchise that's over 30 years old. You're not gonna get anything as good as the original as it is tough to maintain quality after all that time. But how can anyone be disappointed with new content?

My only issue is with the whole piccolo thing. Piccolo and Vegeta are my favorite characters, and it saddens me to see Piccolo fall so low down the totem pole. With that being said, glad we have some new DB content to work with and possibly more to look forward to.

In case anyone was genuinely confused, the "Yamcha beating up Freeza" image is just one of many wacky pictures drawn by Japanese fan artist Dragon Garow Lee.

Waited til I got to the laptop; actual keyboards are way better than touchscreen swiping. =u=

Thoughts:
-It's so short! Well, it reads like it's short. I don't know how this takes up 94 minutes, maybe the battles themselves are longer than I'm picturing?
-Tsundere!Vegeta is the best tsundere. Image
-I need to know Gokû's intent in getting Vegeta to hold his hand for the teleport. Was he trolling him like in the 08' special? Or was it just a cute, no mal-intent "I wanna hold hands with you, Vegeta" thing? Either way, Vegeta's awkwardness about the whole thing and how he quickly lets go after they arrive back on Earth....probably the part of this movie I'm most looking forward to seeing. Image
-Piccolo restarting Gohan's heart after the blast sounds genuinely cool. Haven't seen something like that before in this series.
-I feel like I also really wanna see that climax where Freeza blows up the planet and Gokû's reaction to being the only one Beerus and Whis are able to save in time. Could be disappointing myself, but the mental image I have of it looks like it could be a really good scene.
-Everything else: Eh. Neutral on until I see it.

This really is Movie 12 - Part 2. Lots of fighting, not much plot, and some fun Gokû and Vegeta interactions. I still don't know if my favorite magenta ssjg Gokû shows up during that early training bit, but the cute-awkward hand-holding does mostly make up for it.

I can't wait to see Vegeta beat him out of his Golden form.

It sounds like there's a lot of funny moments between Goku&Vegeta which is always a good thing.

I didn't read all of it yet but it's a shame we didn't get a hint at the end to what's to come next.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I guess them both being "We agree we won't fight as a team." to Whis' suggestion could be a hint. Maybe they'll be forced to do that in the next film?

I think "The beginning of the despair" was when they made this movie script, for Christ sake

Maybe I'm starting to think that Bio-Broly isn't a bad movie at all

Gohan getting one shot is the most cringe worthy thing ever.

And I hated to be the no-fun police about it, but the fan works section is a much better place for stuff like that.

Excessive negativity at its max. I'm sure that this movie is 100 times better than that bio crap.
