The Z-Senshi defeated 1000 warriors without killing them, which means that they were holding back a lot. This would explain why Piccolo had trouble with Shisami, the strongest of them, and a guy at the same level as Zarbon & Dodoria, but without being in real danger. I guess Gohan chose to power-up with Super Saiyan instead of raising his base power for some reason (probably because he wanted to act cool?).
The first thing Freeza did was beat SS Gohan instantly, which sounds like Gohan hasn't lost the use of SS2 & Ultimate, he just didn't get the chance to use them, like with SS3 Gotenks in BoG.
Kuririn thought that Freeza hadn't grown any stronger, so he left #18 behind. Makes sense, he was expecting Gohan, Boo, and Piccolo to be there, who would all be far stronger than Freeza in his mind, and then the 1000 soldiers were so weak that even Kame-sennin could beat them without having to kill them. #18 isn't a martial artist, and she really wasn't needed, so she had no reason to go there, while Kuririn & Kame-sennin probably went to have some action after a long time.
On the other hand, Tenshinhan seems to be more cautious, so he left Yamcha & Chaozu behind, but he still selfishly went there with the excuse that he is the strongest of the 3.
It also makes sense to leave Goten & Trunks behind, since they are dangerous. They failed to kill Boo & got absorbed, they failed to defeat the much weaker Aka and forced Goku to step in, and they held back against a guy that easily defeated Ultimate Gohan... They get way too arrogant as Gotenks.
As for Sorbet's ring, I guess it amplifies his ki through it (I mean, it's the first time we see such a thing, and why would he use a special ring instead of using it through his fingers like everyone else if it isn't better?), but it was still far weaker than Goku, just strong (and pointy?) enough to pierce him while he is off-guard.
Goku is still stronger than Vegeta in the end, as Whis says that Vegeta is still one step behind Goku in chapter 2 of the manga, and he doesn't do anything more impressive than what Goku does, but their difference shouldn't be very big.
Herms said that the 1.3 million was for his First Form, so this must be his battle power after his training, since he was at 530.000 on Namek. Final Form Freeza is still weaker than base God Goku, to the point that even though he could have a fight with him, he couldn't land a hit. Golden Freeza doesn't sound like he is much stronger than Blue Super Saiyan Goku.
We don't get any explanation about how Freeza trained, it seems. But I would assume that he did gravity training, and since he was born with an abnormally high battle power in the first place (around 82 million), him having abnormally huge gains after his first time of very hard training isn't hard to believe.
Finally, it seems that blue Super Saiyan is stronger than than Super Saiyan God (and base/SS/etc with its power), but less than x2 stronger. If it was at least x2, Goku would have been stronger than Beerus, and it sounds like Beerus is still stronger than Freeza, Goku, and Vegeta.
And, that's all that I can gather from the summary (and the manga adaptation) of the movie. Let's wait for the longer summary now, and then the actual move, to see if anything else will change...
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
