That picture of Son-Kun fishing with the others is absolutely adorable! I'd love to see the seafaring adventures of Goku and Beerus! (By the way Kanzenshuu transliterating the God of Destruction's name as "BiRuSu" [Beerus] is confusing since the Official Funi subs type "Beers". I'm sure they are both valid but I need one or the other!)

Freeza having in his army a guy of Zarbon's rank to be stronger than himself and even Piccolo, Gohan not being able to use Mystic, and instead turning into SSJ, while it wasn't supposed to be a transformation, rather than potential unlock, Vegeta not being able to survive a planet destruction (it can be argued though, that he died from a suffocation, not from the actual explosion).

Well,from the summary,it says everyone died in the explosion(besides goku and who was written that was in the barrier whis put up).But i think even to the movie itself it is a contradiction,since again from the summary freeza survived goku's first kameha,so how can a much weaker blast kill vegeta who is comparable to freeza?Plus unless they show vegeta's body floating in space choking, the suffocation thing doesnt really hold.But who knows might be an extended cut with that,unlikely though since toriyama isnt to concerned with consistent showings ^^

Also in the second last chapter of dbz,bulma comes with vegeta and says you never come visit us and goku replies with but we saw each other 5 years ago,to which bulma says
that he didnt even show up cos he had to train.

So obviously those things contradict both movies,so either A the end of z is going to be ignored/retconed(or h/e you write it) or B bog fof and so on are like side stories of what could have happened in another universe so to say ^^

Well. After seeing summary or plot of movie and reading some of the comments . I think that this movie is not up to the mark and has many plot holes.

According to first teaser, it stated that the first wish ever is granted that is resurrection of Frieza. But Frieza is not even a threat to earth. He was the practice bag or timepass for Goku or Vegeta. If cell or buu was resurrected back, that would turn into a better movie.

Basically , movie is , Frieza comes back, Goku and Vegeta shows up , they show their new SSJG transformation , Goku beats Frieza and humiliates him , then after goku is hit and injured , Vegeta kicks Frieza and humiliates him again , Goku kills Frieza in end.

This should have been a 1.5 Hours special . Plot is not very strong.

This is just my opinion. I love DB/DBZ/DDBGT.

If Future Trunks and Krillin hadn't killed fetus Present Cell, he would be completed around this time. Would be a good Resurrection ´C´.

This is movie is obviously full of inconsistencies and flaws. Toriyama has been playing too much captain obvious games with his fans. His interviews make no sense. at one point he says that Beerus is the strongest character in the universe! lol wut? so then Whis doesnt count or did he already forgot about him one shooting beerus? I personally i think Toriyama statements should be taken with a grain of salt! He can say Frieza is stronger than ssj3 goku but that doesnt mean its true, just like how he said that Beerus is strongest than Whis because he didnt mention him.

Also what annoyed me more than anything else is how he said that he cant come up with how he can make his characters stronger anymore, i mean really? Toriyama your characters havent evolved from being planet busters to a downgraded ability by being killed by a blown up planets even though frieza during the namek explosion was able to survive a planet being destroyed at point blank range and characters like Gohan, Vegeta after BoG arent able to do that?
Pathetic!!! Dont make anymore Dragon Ball, your career of a mangaka is over, you didnt gave a shit about the fans after your series ended or atleast allowed somebody else to serialize your manga under your supervision, only now you bother going back to your series that you already forgot and taking bunch of fanfiction ideas of having blue super saiyan, no character development in your storyline, and not even bothering explaining how did frieza manage to become stronger than god goku in only 4 months. One nitpicky thing that I don't thing I've seen brought up yet (for completion's sake) is that with the spelling "Beers", the natural inclination is to pronounce it exactly like the plural of the English word "beer", which means pronouncing the "s" at the end like a "z". But that's not really how the name's pronounced in Japanese (if it were, it'd be written ビルズ/Biruzu rather than ビルス/Birusu). So the "Beerus" spelling has the advantage of better helping to keep a proper pronunciation, since the "rus" is pronounced like the end of the word "virus".

Funi went with "Beerus", but I know a lot of other dubs in other languages went with the "Bills" spelling, so that probably won't disappear. With that in mind, many people who use "Bills" are probably just from non-English speaking countries and simply using the spelling their local dub went with. It's not all stubborn English fans stuck on what the early fan translations went with. So be gentle with them. (I see Sandubadear beat me to this point)

Yeah, I completely agree with you on that. To be honest, return of Cell, or more like appearance of new Cell would make a more lot of sense. If we actually remember, the Present Cell was destroyed by Trunks and Krillin, but... all it would require to return him is for someone to wish for Dr. Gero's Super Computer to be restored. This way we could have Cell... but yet another Cell, not the same one. It could be neat with good execution. Instead we got Freeza... In all honesty, I am still waiting for this movie, because I want to see Vegeta's interactions with Freeza, to see how Vegeta changed in all these years, to see what would Freeza say to him, and how Goku would react to everything. It would be also neat for Freeza to meet both Goten and Trunks (I am not sure that it would happen though, as for now) and to see his and their reaction.

Along with the movie’s theatrical debut in Japan came a program guide book. Inside, the character’s name was adapted into our alphabet — “more-officially”, so to speak, from the actual company that produced the film — as “Beers“:

Sadly, many international screenings of Battle of Gods are being sent around with a spelling of “Bills” in the subtitle track, despite this “official” spelling of “Beers” from Toei.

For the time being, we plan on continuing with our “Beerus” spelling, and it seems as if Bandai Namco (and, in turn, likely FUNimation) will follow suit. In fact, FUNimation voice actor / director / franchise-evangelist Chris Sabat personally fought for the “Beerus” name spelling to both preserve the intentions of the original Japanese staff as well as to provide a far more easily marketable/searchable/monetizable spelling.

Beerus is more of a pun on "Virus", while Beers is a pun on "Beer". It was originally intended for his name to be "Beerus", as I understand, but Toriyama kind of mistook the pun source, hence why it ended to be like "Beers". But both pronunciations are fine.

I know, and I'm absolutely fine with international usage of it, generally. I've just experienced claims that it's somehow a good romanisation from those very fans. The argument was 'it was used officially, therefore it is fine'. Just seems exceptionally boneheaded to refuse to admit the flaw in what your country went with.

Not once have I seen someone attempt to legitimise the decision. Whether that be a pronunciation thing or something else pertaining to the native language of the country, it just boils down to the same old 'it's what I'm used to, so I'm gonna use it' argument.

I kid, soooo Freeza says King Cold is too egoistic. How exactly would that damper his plans? I mean Freeza can travel space solo and perhaps his Golden Form surpasses Cold's power. Cold is no threat to Freeza. So I'm assuming Freeza just wants to be the top dog of the food chain.
Freeza didn't know how fierce a Super Saiyan can be? He fought one for a long, long time. Oh and Trunks killed him. Why is he shocked? Surely Gohan KO'ing one mook can't constitute fierce? Because you know, he's been beat and killed by two Super Saiyans!

I like "Zero" for Son Goku actually, and whiskers the wonder cat, honestly that sounds like something Japan would call their characters.

Goku absorbed SSJG, he made it his own, it is his power in base now. In base he is now on a whole different level from what he was earlier in SSJ3.

I know. But Dragon Ball Heroes shows that base God Goku is like a different for for Goku, meaning he can choose to transform into a Super Saiyan/2/3/God, or power-up in base & use the God's power. Which is what I'm asking from those who have seen the movie: does the movie show the same thing?

Why is that? Beerus is alive for over 75 million years.

Vegeta didn't know how strong Beerus was, he just knew he was stronger than his father. He only realized how dangerous he was when he heard that he defeated SS3 Goku with 2 blows.

Vegeta got a rage boost specifically because he wanted to protect Bulma, according to Watanabe (BoG scriptwritter). Vegeta never got angry in order to protect someone in the manga. It's also probably a gag, since Watanabe called it a silly scene. It's a stupid idea, but it isn't a plot-hole.

Who cares, I'm talking about the manga. The manga contradicts the anime in numerous occations.

Freeza not being reincarnated, and instead staying in hell, while being stated to be very evil by pretty much everyone, including Toriyma himself

Toriyama explained that the more evil you are, the faster you get reincarnated. Majin Boo was the most evil being in the universe, since he was a mindless monster that existed only to kill & destroy, so he got reincarnated fast, while Freeza was an inteligent evil person. We don't know how long it would take for him to be reincarnated, and we have no way to tell.

Piccolo, and everyone else, were heavily suppressed because they didn't want to kill anyone, which is why Piccolo had trouble for a moment.

Gohan was holding back, which is why he didn't use Ultimate. The manga also implies that Ultimate does work like a transformation, even though it isn't an actual transformation, since Gohan's hairstyle is different when he doesn't fight after the ritual compared to how it is when he fights, and Goku believed he could do Fusion with him, which would have been impossible if Gohan couldn't power-down to his normal state from his Ultimate state.

Vegeta not being able to survive a planet destruction (it can be argued though, that he died from a suffocation, not from the actual explosion).

Beerus said that Freeza survived because he can survive in space, which heavily implies that Vegeta really died from suffocation and not from the explosion.

You know, if you'd color it red and keep the hair like that, it would probably look better.

I understand now why Toriyama said that blue looks weak, since blue is more watery and red is more intense.
