Why does everybody always hate on "the formula"? It's what makes or breaks these kinds of shows. That's why GT is considered by so many to be subpar, among other things; it took a formula that worked and "fixed" it.

Also, the Buu saga added a lot to the series. You pretty much got to see Gohan grow up and Vegeta finally resolved his rivalry against Goku, that took the entire series to conclude.

^^ agreed. I really liked how that ended it. It should've stayed that way too. *grumbles about GT*

I'm a bit stuck. See, I love a lot about the Buu saga, but I also think that Dragonball could have and probably should have ended after the Cell Saga.

The whole "Super Saiyan" thing just got wacky from levels 3 and above. Even though EVERY SAIYAN is a Super Saiyan by the Cell Games, the concept of going beyond the "ultimate power" is really cool. And GOHAN is the one that does it, and that was just awesome.

The Buu saga was very original, but in my opinion it was a step down from Freeza and Cell.

I think that Buu, itself is a very good character, it can regenarate like Cell and has the high and mighty attitude of Freeza but maybe Super Saiyan 3 might be going a little too far.
I feel sorry for Future Gohan.

Everyone's like, "What?! What are you doing with two arms?! You tear that off right now, mister!"

Poor guy.
