5 Supreme Kais ruling over 1 or 12 universes?
5 Supreme Kais ruling over 1 or 12 universes?
Has it been specified anywhere yet whether the 5 Supreme Kais we know already (well, the 2 left alive) are the rulers of all 12 universes or does each universe has its own set of Supreme Kais (or some other highest deities)?

There's 12 Gods of Destruction, instead of Beerus overseeing 12 universes. Going to assume that comes with Supreme Kais for all twelve universes

Hmm, interesting if Whis is 1 for training of all Gods of Destructions or other universes have their own trainersFoolsGil wrote:There's 12 Gods of Destruction, instead of Beerus overseeing 12 universes. Going to assume that comes with Supreme Kais for all twelve universes

It hasn't been specified in anything official that I'm aware of, but yeah, since Beerus says he's the God of Destruction for only Universe #7, presumably all the Gods of Creation we've met so far are likewise only gods for that one universe rather than all twelve.

I think that should be followed up by saying I don't think anything directly states that there are 12 Hakaishin either. Beerus says he's the Hakaishin of Universe 7 and that there are 12 Universes. You can takes that as an implication that there are other Hakaishin in the other 11 Universes, but he also says that he doesn't know what's in them, meaning they may not have the same deity structure or anything.Herms wrote:It hasn't been specified in anything official that I'm aware of, but yeah, since Beerus says he's the God of Destruction for only Universe #7, presumably all the Gods of Creation we've met so far are likewise only gods for that one universe rather than all twelve.

Yeah, even in the guidebooks it never flat-out says there's exactly one God of Destruction per universe, so it's possible that some universes have more than one, or some have none for whatever reason, making the sum total something other than 12. There is a line it Chouzenshuu 4 when explaining about the god hierarchy where it refers to 破壊の神々/Hakai no Kami-Gami, "Gods of Destruction", with 神々/Kami-Gami specifically meaning "gods" (so 神 on its own can potentially refer to only one god or multiple gods, depending on context, while 神々 always specifically means multiple gods. Don't you just love Japanese.....?) Meaning if nothing else we can at least rest assured that Beerus is not the only God of Destruction out there. Which is obviously what's implied by his speech at the end of BoG, but like you said, he really only implies stuff without saying much that's too definitive (oh, you crafty Toriyama you). Also, for the record 破壊の神々/Hakai no Kami-Gami is the exact same phrase used in the DBZ movie 3 ending theme. In that case I think we're supposed to assume that the "gods of destruction" mentioned in the song are supposed to be Tullece and his men, but maybe Hironobu Kageyama was decades ahead of his time when it comes to this franchise.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I think that should be followed up by saying I don't think anything directly states that there are 12 Hakaishin either. Is that present tense, or could that just mean there was another Hakaishin before Beerus? Whis did offer Goku the job for after Beerus, so presumably the implication there is that there was one before as well?

It's describing the system in general, so not really the present tense, but it doesn't seem like they're referring to Gods of Destruction before Beerus. If that's the sort of thing they were trying to say, then they really didn't make it clear enough (it'd be a bit like describing the US as "governed by multiple presidents" or something; technically accurate, but really confusing for anyone who didn't already know there's only one US president at any given time).TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Is that present tense, or could that just mean there was another Hakaishin before Beerus?
