Re: What kind of bug do you consider Cell to be in each form
Perfect Cell looked a lot like a cockroach to me. But yeah! Now that you mention it, Imperfect Cell does look like a wasp, and Semi-perfect Cell, a scorpion!

When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

It's a boss from Dragon Ball Online. Bound to make a debut in Heroes or a fighting game soon. D:

That's pretty scary looking tbh. I don't really know what bug to compare him too, probably a cicada/wasp; I've always loved that Cell resembles an insect, makes him all the more creepy.fadeddreams5 wrote:

Hopefully he'll be a playable character in future games.fadeddreams5 wrote:

I quite like the idea of perfect Cell mutating into a more grotesque bug-like form over time (and perhaps becoming stronger because of it). It would be interesting to see how it affects his personality, maybe he wouldn't view his changing body as "perfect" anymore.
One things for sure though, I can definitely picture that version of Cell spitting out an army of Cell jrs.

I don't see how that thing could even be playable...kinda loses the finesse Cell generally possessed in form and movement.

That said, I'd love it if he created Perfect Cell clones instead.
Maybe as a boss in a fighting game. Even Ultimate Shenron has been featured as one. In Heroes, I imagine it's not hard to make him a playable character. Isn't that game turn-based or something?Duo wrote:I don't see how that thing could even be playable...kinda loses the finesse Cell generally possessed in form and movement.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Re: What kind of bug do you consider Cell in each form?
As much as I favor the Super Perfect Form over any form(SPC>Perfect>Imperfect>>>>Semi-Perfect), I sorta wish in the manga/anime series that Cell's Super Perfect form had some of X's features like its head, eyes, some spikes and a little more bulkier appearance.
Oh and his wings be more like a regular flying bug, that way it'd be the most grotesque form in Dragon Ball history.

Re: What kind of bug do you consider Cell in each form?
I see some roach or beetle in Cell. His wings are not the transparent membraney type like a wasp or fly would have, but hard-shelled ones more similar to beetles or roaches.
So I guess I'd say that Cell in bug terms is probably something along the lines of a blend of cicada (his burrowing larval state and how he hatched out of the exoskeleton in his more-developed Imperfect form), roach/beetle (wings and hard shell), and scorpion (stinger tail and full-body shell armor.) Maybe a little bit of mantis too, particularly in the slimmer Imperfect and Perfect forms, not so much in the bulky Semi-Perfect.
And thinking about it, these all make a lot of sense for Gero to include -- cicadas are known for their long lifespan (spending 10+ years burrowed underground before fully developing) and the whole changing-through-multiple-forms thing, roaches and beetles are both incredibly tough to kill in various ways (roaches are the ones that are notorious for surviving radiation, but I remember the Mythbusters actually found that some species of beetles will outlast even roaches in extreme radioactive conditions), and scorpions and mantises are both deadly predators. All appropriate DNA sources for a super-strong, hard to kill, transforming bug monster to have.
And that DBO Cell-X form definitely says "roach" to me--there's the bristles/spikes on the legs and even what appears to be a giant egg-case attached!

Re: What kind of bug do you consider Cell in each form?
There could be some scorpion in there I suppose as part of the "number of other life-forms" from his description, but for the sake of the topic, I guess I just wouldn't really count a scorpion as a "bug" though (same as spiders). The tail thing has always reminded me more of a revamped mosquito trait for the sake of the design, as Cell would have looked extremely odd and even more creepy if he was absorbing people and robits through his face.

Good point, but you know, the only reason I think that Imperfect Cell's a wasp fusion cuz of his wings and weapon tail mixed together. It's almost reminiscent to a real wasp, I mean have you seen one in real life?Pantalones wrote:I see some roach or beetle in Cell. Those type of bugs scare me the freaking most cuz of their long ass stingers man!
