Ratings really dont matter that much. If you like the film thats all that matters.
Their are film that I like that have very low rating but they bring me joy, I'm not saying their good just that I enjoy them.

Damn. I am genuinely shocked that One Piece Film Z was seen as average by some moviegoers in Japan. Considering how universally loved One Piece is in that country and how much money One Piece Film Z made.FortuneSSJ wrote:One Piece Film Z - 3.27 stars. I got no issue with people bringing it up again, though. Original Japanese version (with subtitles) and the English dub...IN THEATRES?! Yeeeeesss. Madman usually gives out free posters as well. DB fandom in the southern hemisphere ain't too shabby right now.

Missed it, this thread is huge.Marlowe89 wrote:First of all, you're not replying to my most recent post to you, in which I show that both BoG and RoF indicate the opposite of what you're saying. Secondly, you're just repeating what you said in your previous post that was addressed to me.
But Goku didn't rely on these forms, he transformed by accident, and without even realizing it. The fact that he didn't notice that he went from God to base to SS and eventually back to God means that all these forms are around the same level. Plus, Beerus comments on Goku's strength in general when he says that his power decreased insignificantly, and doesn't say anything about his power after he turned SS, which further implies that it doesn't make much difference.BoG never confirmed that. If if anything, it suggests the exact opposite - Goku wouldn't have relied on his Super Saiyan transformation after his absorption of Super Saiyan God if his base form was precisely on par with it, nor would he have absorbed Beerus' giant energy ball at the end of the movie by going back into SSG. The simple fact that he did those things in the first place is a direct indication that base Goku isn't quite as powerful as SSG Goku.
But the FnF manga shows that base Goku is around as strong as God Goku. If SSGSS Goku is stronger than base Goku, then he should also be stronger than SSG Goku.Goku holding back in FnF only implies that SSGSS is stronger than himself in base, which is obvious to anyone remotely familiar with how the Super Saiyan transformations work; it doesn't automatically suggest that his base form would be just as powerful as his SSG transformation just because he absorbed a lot of its strength. In both the movie and limited manga for FnF, Goku even remarks that a casual attack from a half-asleep Beerus would have killed him during his training with Whis.
As for Beerus, we have no idea how much of his power Beerus was using. If he was at full power (which is possible, since he is angry), then his ki blast should be strong enough to kill Goku.
He still says that Goku doesn't need to turn Super Saiyan God anymore, even though he can transform on his own without the ritual, and that's before Super Saiyan God SS, since Toriyama says that we can understand that after watching BoG. Which even further implies that base/SS Goku in BoG are about as strong as God Goku. The only thing Toriyama ever confirms in his interview is that Goku wouldn't need SSG anymore because he'd previously absorbed its power. He never specifically says that base Goku is exactly as strong as SSG Goku, and that wouldn't be consistent with what we were shown in BoG anyhow. He needs Super Saiyan to draw out more of its power. I don't know how this could be any more apparent.
Goku doesn't say "this is regular Super Saiyan with Super Saiyan God's power"And that explanation is straight from Goku's mouth, word for word. It's not a literal fusion of two forms and was never implied to be anything of the sort. That notion is headcanon at best.
You really should watch BoG. Training is required to make the power of the form permanent. It's only super-easy to get the form for a few minutes, not permanently.Rocketman wrote:I think it's funny that people pretend like "training" has anything to do with it. The God Ritual has no training involved at all.
They got everybody together to deify Vegeta. Why not deify Gohan too?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

He didn't notice that he'd absorbed the power of SSG and nothing more than that was said. It wouldn't make any sense whatosever for him not to notice that he transformed back into Super Saiyan, given his enormous familiarity with the transformation, but even if he didn't notice this it would still presuppose that he instinctively used SSJ to draw out the remaining power of SSG. Furthermore, the actual difference in power between base Goku and SSG Goku is speculative, no matter how "insignificant" it might be. We know for a fact that there is a difference though, otherwise Goku wouldn't have needed to transform back into SSG just to negate Beerus' enormous energy ball, which he couldn't do before.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:But Goku didn't rely on these forms, he transformed by accident, and without even realizing it. So no, he definitely relied on these transformations after absorbing his God power initially. There's really no disputing this.
No it doesn't. Goku surrounds his fist with a "special" kind of energy and attempts to punch Whis with an image of SSG Goku in the background - what that indicates, directly, is that Goku was using God ki in that particular moment. What it doesn't confirm is that base Goku is necessarily as strong as SSG Goku. You're acting like it was some explicit statement, which couldn't be further from the truth. But the FnF manga shows that base Goku is around as strong as God Goku. If SSGSS Goku is stronger than base Goku, then he should also be stronger than SSG Goku.
I find that incredibly unlikely. Beerus was half-asleep, and he was also reported to blow up a planet with nothing more than a sneeze in the movie. Goku was shocked by both of these incidents, and the latter is definitely a casual showing. As for Beerus, we have no idea how much of his power Beerus was using. If he was at full power (which is possible, since he is angry), then his ki blast should be strong enough to kill Goku.
No, that just implies that Goku is capable of tapping into the full power of Super Saiyan God; ergo, he doesn't need it anymore. Every time he's done this, both in BoG and in RoF, he's done it by transforming into the first Super Saiyan state. He barely even fought Beerus in base after he absorbed it and went directly to SSJ not long into the fight.
He literally calls it "Super Saiyan with the power of Super Saiyan God".Goku doesn't say "this is regular Super Saiyan with Super Saiyan God's power"
I don't know what else you'd expect here. At best I can concede that SSGSS might be stronger than SSG, but there was certainly no implication of that in the film or the manga.

I agree. It's ridiculous to imagine that Goten and Kid Trunks could achieve that kind of power if they become SSJG. You said well, the concept must be unique to Pure Saiyans from Planet Vegeta.FortuneSSJ wrote:-About Gohan becoming God-
I don't want it. I'm all for bringing back Gohan and the rest to the frontlines. But not following the God road for the half-saiyans.
I feel like SSJG should be dealed different than SSJ was and made it only unlockable for Pure Saiyans. The ones directly connected to Planet Vegeta. Make it special.
My concept idea would be: Any Saiyan can join the ritual but, only pure saiyans can successfully unlock the form.
I would like Toriyama to go this way.
Not even a year, just like 9 months since BoG that he was "Mystic" against Beerus, even GT had a more reasonable thought... Implying that Gohan lost his potential 15 years without training after EoZ. What a hell Gohan did in these 9 months to question himself if he still can transform in a Super Saiyan? WTFdbzfan7 wrote:No that comment of being unable to maybe tap into SSJ is bullshit and unreasonable. It's been like a year later after he had no issues, and now he has a problem? Bullshit. It's been shown when the half breeds try, they surpass the full bloods. That is a fact. It won't take years.
dbzfan7 wrote:Neither is Goku or Vegeta as that never happened in the manga. Oob is considered a challenge and worthy fighter too, despite how horribly outclassed he'd beKendamu wrote:Gohan training God power would, of course, all depend on him actually giving a crap about martial arts training to begin with. We know how this ends. Gohan's not a Super Saiyan God at the end of DBZ.
And that's something that I would like to know how Toriyama will handle, because Goku and Vegeta achieving such a great amount of power and Goku still finding interest in a fighter like Oob is pretty odd making RoF difficult to fit in the canon.
I would find this pretty funny if were a real thing but I would find lame too... I could see Freeza training something way too serious, like he passing it through a series of hard trials on a distant Dark Planet.SansrivaaL wrote:Well since everyone is interested on finding out how Freeza trained then.....
Ignore Tagoma, thats merely Freeza hallucinating over him.
This training would show Freeza deepest fears alongside with flashbacks of his defeats, his dreams, frustrations and finally satisfaction after achieving the power he assumes to be enough to destroy the SSJs
Probably the most sensible opinion that I read this thread, I'm thinking that maybe I could put this as signature.AvatarReiko wrote:wrgrwazrhreh
