Maybe so, but keep in mind that "Chiaotzu" is the actual Mandarin Chinese word for potstickers, whereas "Chiatzu" is not. "Jiaozi" is another valid spelling of the word for potstickers, and the one you're most likely to encounter if you take a Mandarin Chinese class these days

I've noted this before, but...nowadays it's impossible to hear this line without thinking of One-Punch Man.

Continuation of my other post. On second thought Kuririn isnt actually accurate to Toriyama's intention since its meant to be Kuri with lin from Shaolin. So yeah, there is actually nothing wrong with Krillin. The actual written version should STILL be Kurilin though.

Oh my God! You are so right!

That is so the sort of line I would totally hear in One Punch Man. :P

"His name was Krillin!".

It may have already been said on here, and if so sorry. But I love that line - although, the emotional impact is lessoned since we know he was gonna be brought back with the Dragon Balls anyway...

Although, it probably doesn't count though, since the original line was similar enough.

But for the whole attack changes, I understand why they did that.

I mean, they could have kept Kienzan, it's not bad. But Genki Dama? Making that Spirit Bomb is fine IMO.

Wasnt that on DBZAbridged? I actually went to check it out and even on the old dub it was "I WONT LET YOU...GET AWAY WITH THIS!". I actually do like the "His name was KRILLIN!" line and even DBZA itself, I wanted to make this clear because I criticized the more pushy fandom and I dont want people to think I hate it or something.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it. I don't see anything that I personally would take as inflammatory in your posts so far. Also, I think "His name...WAS KRILLIIIIIN!!" was actually in Dragon Ball Z Budokai, which...technically counts as a dub of Dragon Ball Z, right?

I know, but its kind of stretching it. Or at least the source should be made clear becuase then we can just say whatever line comes to mind and then we will never know if it was actually said in any dub at all.

I always hated how the FUNI dub first pronounced the kamehameha as "kamayamaya".

I was told that's how you pronounce the Hawaiian king's name.

I know the Funimation version was extremely flawed, especially early on, but I have never heard this Kameyamaya. I really dont get it. How did they pronounce the ha as ya? I really dont. Can someone post a video or...

When they're calling out the attack, they pronounce it right. When they're referring to it in dialogue, they pronounce it as Kamayamaya (this was fixed in Kai).

Just watch any episode that had Ian Corlett (FUNimation's first Goku). He had a thick Canadian accent and always pronounced Kamehameha as "Kameyamaya" and Kaio-ken as "Kayo-ken".

This is correct actually. In fact, I believe even early Season 3 had Schemmel saying "Kameyameya" during the attacks. Or, more specifically, "Ka-May-Ya-May-Ha!"

Even the "HA" at the end? I'm sorry for being so disbelieving to the many witnesses but I REALLY doubt anyone could be as stupid to pronounce "ha" as "ya".

Well here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otE7pCUjqHc&t=1m30s
He pronounces it "kuh-may-yuh-may-yuh" right before kind of pronouncing it accurately for the actual attack.
