How powerful are Real life Martial artists and Athletes?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

How powerful are Real life Martial artists and Athletes?

Post by DBZAOTA482 » Thu May 07, 2015 10:11 pm

We all know the average power level for a human is around 5 (Farmer), and Mr. Satan is supposedly to be strong for a normal human being a martial artist and all but how is it like for real-life martial artist? Here's what I got so far.

Dragon Ball

Bulma: 2
Average human male: 3-5
Average human female: 2.5-5
Lunch: 5.5
Ranfan: 6
Mr. Satan (Boo Saga): 6
Mr. Satan (Cell Saga): 6.5
Videl (pre-training): 7
Yamcha (BoDB): 7
Videl (post-training): 7.5
Chi-Chi (BoDB): 8
Krillin (BoDB): 9
Goku (BoDB): 10
Bacterian: 14
Average preliminary fodder: 15-18
Man-wolf: 20
Colonel Violet: 35
Pamput: 40 (highest level reachable by human standards)

Real-life

Average Martial artist: 5.25 - 5.5
Average Boxer: 5.15 - 5.5
Average MMA Fighter: 5.5 - 6
Average Wrestler: 5.5 - 7
Usian Bolt: 5.5
Mike Tyson: 7
Bob Sapp: 7 (I'm sure Toriyama-sensei was joking about it though)

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I'd put most professional MMA's, kickboxers and athletes in range of 3-5 as far as BP goes. No real life person is getting anywhere near to double digits. We're weaklings, unfortunately. :(

We humans are lame, can't even fly or shoot ki waves, so naturally anyone from DBZ could pwn our ass easily.

But if we upgrade our fighters to DB standards, I's say we might see some Ginyu force level guys.

P.s. Those anyone remember those rl life fighter referenced in those street challenges, like Goku beating that Bruce Lee guy, Buu and Pete, etc.

I felt some racist vibes from those.... Bruce being Chinese and all, Pete I assumed was a joke on Mexican boxers, and blacks guys at the World Tourny, especially that one with the long legs that Trunks beat, I wanna think otherwise but damn, it was a ridicule at its worst. :?

If we're to take the Daizenshuu's Battle Power of 10 as serious for Goku, then Bob Sapp being a 7 is pretty realistic. Remember that the typical human in the Dragonball world was shown to have a BP of 5.

Meanwhile, real-life fighters aren't as powerful as the Dragonball world's "normal" fighters. I don't just mean gag-manga physics, either. Pamputt from the 22nd Budokai is considered to be the apex of what's "normally" possible. Nobody in the real world could match him.
