As far as the fight goes it sucked, too much focus on Beerus and Whis eating candy. Plus the CGI was really jarring.

What a logicDoctor. wrote:Freeza admitted he was outclassed and swallowed his pride in order to train; Piccolo showed he isn't always a strict father figure by showing he can gently take care of Pan; Goku finally puts his arrogance and selfish behavior to the side (he should have received this development in the Freeza arc and one can argue that he did and that this movie showcased character regression, but I digress). It's subtle, but it's there if you pay attention, just like all character development in Dragon Ball.
In regards to the fight, I agree that it was pretty underwhelming and average at best, CGI overall was better than BoG's but too much of it was used. The second time F was used was in that fight and most of it was spent on Beerus and Whis talking about food, lol, and their gags were pretty unnecessary. I loved Goku's punch to Freeza's chest, Vegeta's beat-down and Nakao's screams when Freeza gets out of the water, though.
