Will Gine meet Goku in Dragon Ball Super/future movie?

Post by MarCas92 » Thu May 21, 2015 11:09 pm

I know this is a weird question. But it's honestly something I've been thinking about. It's a super common thing a lot of Manga-ka do. They introduce a character in a flashback and use them later on in the story. Naruto did this, One Piece did this and that's just to name a few. We also never see her die. If she appears in Super I think that would be really lazy and lame. What do you think?

Maybe only a cameo in the afterlife.

Maybe in the video games. I doubt her and Bardock will ever officially meet Goku outside of What If stories in video games.

Uh, they did meet, and knew each other fairly well, I would say...

Its a 20-80 for me, 20 he meets her and 80 he doesnt, there would be no point, that is unless Akira Toriyama decides to make a plot twist for Goku to develop more. The possibility is never 0.

No, she's long turned into a soul to be made into a completely new being. Even though she lacks the Saiyan nature she still hasn't done any extraordinary deeds.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'd think Goku would only meet Gine in perhaps a hallucination, when he's on the brink of death, ala his hallucination of Bardock, King Vegeta and Vegeta when fighting Freeza in the anime.

Has Bardock met Goku yet officially? I can't recall. I know some video games hint at them having done so.

Either way I'd lean more towards 'no'. Even though Goku knows he's Saiyan he still counted Grandpa Gohan as his true grandfather and didn't really see Raditz as his true brother. I honestly don't think Goku has any interest in meeting his biological birth parents even if they somehow kept their bodies.

You know I'm curious about Vegeta's mother now. Maybe Toriyama will reveal something about her in an interview.

They do meet in a few video-game what-ifs. I recall at least 3 times, in Burst Limit, where Bardock time-travels to the future & fights SS Goku, in Supersonic Warriors 2, where they meet in AfterLife, and in Tenkaichi Tag Team, where Bardock attacks the Earth instead of Raditz. There might be more times they meet though.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Shin Budokai:Another Road is another one where they meet. It's also implied from voice files that in Budokai 3,at some point in development, Bardock would've had his own story where he meet Goku.

He also meets Goku in a what if story in the first Tenkaichi game where he ends up meeting Goku on Namek.

On the above notes; I feel I'd be fine with Gine meeting Goku in a what-if Video game(should she ever be included in one) like they have done with Bardock but maybe not so much in Super.

Then again Revival of F played pretty fast and loose with who can and can't be revived with the Dragonballs, so who knows if she turns out to be even half as popular as her husband.

I actually wouldn't mind a little more Gine in general, as long as means we also get a bit more Raditz. Poor guy tends to be forgotten about despite being the protagonists brother.

She was one of the very few saiyans that was good. She most likely went to heaven. Bardock most likely went to Hell after he was killed by Freeza. Bardock was still evil despite caring about his family. We saw him killing a group of aliens in the first part of DB-. He most likely killed more and wipe out other planets before in the past.

Nah, Gine's in hell with Bardock. She willingly took part in the genocide of races and the extermination of planets for many years and only stopped because she was too damn clumsy in doing it most of the time.

Gine had no issue killing people and having a husband killing people. Gine was just weak and soft. Trust and believe if she had a power level of 7,000 that she would kill ruthlessly without second thought.

Minus revealed one of the greatest tragedies on the series.

Goku thought, mistakenly, that his parents were both horrible people who didn't gave a damn about him. He was disgusted with Raditz and didn't want to have anything to do with him or the rest of his family... without knowing they did actually care.

It really bothered me.

I actually hope that at after Cell, he got to at least meet Gine in the afterlife during those 7 years, even if it was just as a "soul". To be honest, I don't think she had it in her to kill people either so I guess she could be found in heaven.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"
