Babidi changes environment to 10x earth gravity. Now thinks he can win. Gets his ass handed but continues to run foward thinking he's stronger.
Don't get me wrong, he's an idiot. But the biggest idiot in the series? I don't know about that.

As far as henchmen go, Yakon is the biggest idiot. lol. He killed himself. xD

In his defense, he had no idea that the Saiyans were OP at that stage. :P

Whilst there's been many good examples(Garlic Jr. probably is the biggest dumbass for falling for the same thing TWICE. BY HIS OWN HAND) I find it surprising no one has mentioned Dr. Gero.

Yes Dr. Gero is a genius. He's also an incompetent idiot.

Ignoring the fact he vastly underestimated the saiyan's strength, which is somewhat understandable since he didn't follow them into space, he creates Androids 17 and 18 to be stronger than his own Android form and then proceeds to threaten them with a shut off switch into doing his dirty work after kidnapping and modifying them, presumably against their will. Anyone with any ounce of sense should be able to see what will happen next.

So why would you create these super powerful android bodies, deactivate them, and then not create yourself as an Android based on this superior form?

If the Infinite Energy model was too complex for #19 to modify for Gero due to it being essentially complicated surgery, why not transplant his brain into a #16 type model which is even STRONGER than the twins whilst still being entirely robotic?

1. He never underestimated the Sayan strength, damn he OVERestimated it a lot. I can imagine Dr.Gero thinking when he decided on #19 and himself are strong enough : "Okey, pretty sure I am ready. Unless Goku and Vegeta manage to get more than 45 times stronger than my research proves they will be, they won't even stand a chance to lay a punch."

2. Judging by the numbers, androids 17 and 18 were created BEFORE 19, and therefore before he became an android too, not to mention, these androids rebelled once and were shut down with the switch, after that they were reprogrammed and labeled as never to be used ever again. The only reason why he threatens them with the remote in the series, is because he knows he will be defeated / killed by the Z fighters if not for the twins help.

Yamcha, Maximum Frieza, and Perfect Cell during his fight with Gohan.....sorta. The only thing that'd redeem Perfect Cell is his Saiyan genes.

Goku was very serious when Murasaki threatened to blow up Android 8.

Gero created #17 and #18 while he was still human. He shut them down once he realized that they didn't want to obey, considered them a failure and stored them away.

He then created #19 and he considered it to be, finally, a success. All other androids before it had one or various problems and were considered failures.

At that point, Gero decided to also become an android and decided to be the same model as the only android he didn't consider a failure, #19, while still being a tad more powerful than it. The lack of power of that model compared to previous models was not considered to be a problem by him because, frankly, #19 had WAY more power than anything he considered to be possible for his enemies (Goku) and he probably wasn't planning on reactivating his previous androids ever again.

Once he realized that Goku and the others surpassed his expectations by a LONG shot, fearing for his live, he was forced to reactivate his previous models to help him, while still keeping a close watch on them with his remote. The situation was far from ideal but he had no other choice at that point.

Doesn't seem stupid to me. He could have #16's model as his body and the gang could still be stronger than him, as far as he knew. According to his calculations, it should have been as impossible for the gang to surpass #16 as it they did regarding #19. The chances for that, according to his calculations were slim to none in both cases.

Not to mention that the model that Gero chose probably had significant advantages over the others that we are not aware of but would be significant for Gero for the rest of his life.

I believe it's because brains are only compatible with Energy Absorption models. You don't see Android 16 with a brain like Android 19.

Regarding Gero, I assume he didn't have the resources to make another Infinite Energy Model, when he made the decision to turn himself into one

I consider idiots not by their small blunders to themselves, but their impact to the plot. There's only two villains who fit that.

Garlic Jr is first. Dead Zone Movie, gain Immortality, too frustrated against Goku and Piccolo to just wear them down, opens the Dead Zone, the only thing that can stop him. That was bad. Then he escapes via planetary alignment in his saga, opens the Dead Zone AGAIN, and before that point, explained that he escaped due to the Makyo Star, forgetting his opponents can shoot beams of energy that can destroy planets. All because he can't be bothered to play the waiting game until Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin (and before that, Goku and Piccolo) run out of energy.

Second place, (and I'm placing him here and not first because I will get a response about how I'm wrong) is Vegeta. I do not consider him even resembling a hero until he accepted Goku is better than him. So, 'Geta allowed Cell to become Perfect, placing the Earth in danger. Then he took on a large massive power up as Majin Vegeta to settle a score, allowing Buu's escape, who eventually killed everyone and destroyed Earth.

Both are villains, both committed blunders that impacted the plot, and both are the biggest idiots in the entire series.
