If the Universe number relating to how much dragon balls are in a set is true then Universe 1 must have a very strong or very weak Eternal Dragon.
Why I use "Geran" instead of "Jiren"

I only just now remembered. Like 4, isn't 9 an unlucky number in Japan?

As a personal note
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

Yeah, because 9 is a homophone for the Japanese word for "suffering", while 4 is a homophone for the Japanese word for "death". This is true in Chinese as well.

Not sure if they'd really go done that route, since so far those traditional negative associations haven't been featured too heavily in DB. Well, the 4-star ball is associated with Grandpa Gohan, who is dead, but because Goku links the ball with his grandpa, it's treated as a good thing right up through GT. Meanwhile, for whatever reason the 1-star ball is the one that seems to get associated with the bad guys: it's the ball Pilaf always seems to have, and in GT the ultimate enemy is the 1-Star Dragon.
Marco Polo wrote:Aww, I liked Champ better because in addition to "champagne" it also doubled as pun on "champion" (or even "chomp"). Similar to how Beerus was a double pun, on "beer" and "virus".
That sort of double pun doesn't really work in Japanese though, since they write the English word "champion" as chanpion (チャンピオン), while "champagne" is shanpan (シャンパン). I suppose that doesn't stop us from trying to play up that angle if we want, but it wasn't what Toriyama and co. had in mind.

Just read the first chapter, and it was really great.

Beerus is such a boss. Those alien bug assholes were trying to poison Beerus and when Beerus drank the poison he was all like, "Nice poison. But I've tasted stronger." Then the alien bugs lost their shit, started to catch a serious sweat and tried to bum rush him. Then Beerus went into God Of Destruction mode was like, "Today, I got time cuz." BOOM. Planet gone. And Whis was all chill throughout the whole deal. Fucking glorious.

Also, seeing Goku and Goten doing some father-son bonding was really cool and way overdue. :)

I thought so... I think Toriyama don't want to get past his manga end, when he said that he prefered a story where everyone was not so old like they were in EoZ kinda confirms that

god forbid that they introduce new characters that are younger

I'd love to see Goku being the Roshi sensei guy of a Post EOZ DB anime/manga where goku passes on the Kamehameha, spirit bomb, instant transmission, kaio ken, and so on to a new protag would be really cool.

What Toriyama said in the past and what Toriyama might think now can change....we should wait and see.

However, going onto speculation-nation, I dont see how with the introduction of Champ(?) and FemaleWhis which wasnt even mentioned in RoF, for it to end at F.

Toei is going to keep it running for a long time, as long as the merchandise is profitable. There's no reason for Toei to drop a series that could likely result in a success.

Because of that, yon is used more than shi. Ichi, ni, san, yon... And for Dragon Ball, chinese names are used, so it doesn't apply on four star ball.

Speaking of the Chinese names, how do you pronounce this?

Didn't X Xinq Qiu mean "X-Star Ball"? Adding an extra "Ball" seems redundant.

Well, I dont know Chinese, but from what I gather, personally, I would spell it in chinese as Zuu Zshin Chiou.
As in Japanese, that is spelled as Suu-shin-chu or maybe Shu-shin-chu.

Sounds like "su shing cho" phonetically
