What is the deal with this fan-fiction crap so if someone wrote a good fan-fiction and the anime was very similar you'd complain about it sounding fan fictiony, what doesn't constitute as a fan fiction story?

I'm much more interested in an alternative universe version of Goku, male or female, who didn't get amnesia.

I really think they are going to get different characters. Like Goku could be female but the didn't get amnesia is going to be an alternate timeline rather than an alternate universe.

Wait... if they have a whole new universe with Dragon Balls, I guess that means they also have Namekians... that means.... THAT MEANS... the whole Saiyajin race can still exist here!!!!

while i agree the fan-fictiony tier hopes are pretty silly. but hey I'm hypocrite, the thought of Seeing teen Gohan or GT Goku again would be one of the coolest things for me to see.

Can someone who knows the ins and outs of anime production tell me what the chances are that we'll get two seasons/arcs of Super? One tying into the Battle of Gods stuff and the other tying into the Revival of "F" stuff? If that happens do you think the anime will air until completion, take a break, and then air again? Or is it more likely that Super will continue without breaks until it finishes?

Champa and LadyWhis are almost certainly this other universe's versions of Beerus and Whis. So I imagine we'll get to see, since it's our universe visiting their's, alternate versions of other characters as well. Maybe their Freeza is a hero a la our Goku and their Goku is a tyrant a la our Freeza?

Sure, this sort of thing has been done a million times before in animated shows and comics, but it's usually a lot of fun.

I can get behind the Gods of Destruction and their assistants all being similar in design and name, but I really don't like the idea that the other universes have similarities to what we've seen so far, like the Dragon Balls and such. I get that they have to be somewhat similar, probably have aliens with two legs, two arms, two eyes, but... I'm just not into the whole alter-ego cast thing if they go that direction.

Yeah as much as I loved the Namek saga doing it again in another universe sounds.... repetitive.

I think that was one of the best arcs, so I wouldn't mind them doing something similar. Plus with the Super Dragon Balls, this could make finding them more important again, looking for them would be an adventure, and we may see a new eternal dragon.

And yeah, really not interested in seeing all this fan fiction stuff in the new series, and I really hope the new universes aren't just alternate versions, though they most likely will be.

If other universes are just different takes on the main universe, then that'd be pretty disappointing. I'd love to see it used as a slate for some completely original things. Though, a single universe that parallels the main one would be okay.

The time slot Super is airing in is not meant for anime that are produced as cours/seasons. The series should run continuously, disregarding the normal week breaks that occasionally happen for special events.

Why are people saying that the events will be "in a different universe, so that's why events are different."? If they happened in a different universe, then why would Beerus and Whis be there? Is there not only one of them? Are they not exclusive to the 7th universe?

Just read Kendamu mention the idea of a "Tall Krillin" after Tanooki mentioned the idea of a Krillin who's a "Ladies' man" and now I need to see this in Universe 6 too. :3

From what I've seen...
- Cannot borrow cliche elements seen in any comics, including omniscient gods and parallel universes.
- Absolutely no mention of any saiyans not already introduced in manga.
- Absolutely no mention of any tuffles.
- Absolutely no mention of long lost family members of any of the cast.
- No Broly.
- No original super saiyan or original super saiyan god.
- No characters that only appear in specials or movies (e.g.Tapion, Future Gohan, Bardock, Gine, etc.).
- No returning villains or characters (e.g. Future Trunks, Frieza, Cell, etc.).
- No evil or possessed version of characters.
- No additional dragon balls.
- No new SSJ forms.
- No new fusions.
- No new forms at all.
- No demon realm or makaioshin (fans have been craving this, so at this point, it'd be too fan-fictiony to provide).
- No generic villain that comes from space, threatens the peace of Earth for no reason, and is stronger than Goku... somehow.
- No evil/rebellious god of destruction (I'm sure fans have been writing novels of this since BoG).

That should cover most of it.

I do not mind the alternate takes on 'Gokuu meets Beers' and Freeza is revived'. I think it will be quite nice, especially if the stories subvert the previous tellings.

I wonder how many people will compare Super to GT because of the new Dragon Balls (heard that comparison at least once).
