Giru - Like or Dislike?
I don't know about you all, but I like Giru, he's sweet and funny. I get the sense that many of you don't like him, but he's one of my favorite characters in GT.
An example of a moment that made me laugh:
Giru tastes Pan's cooking
Giru: Excessive sugar content, excessive fat content, mmm... excessive salt content...
Pan smacks him on the head
Giru: Excessive violent content!

Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
Absolutely love him. My favorite GT-exclusive character. Episode 15 is my favorite story in GT, and it's because of him and his devotion to Pan.
It's such a shame that he's lumped in with all the GT stuff and we don't get to see him in other productions.

I like Giru, I have no reason to dislike him. A lot of people find him annoying but I find him funny.

I only watched GT dubbed. I disliked him, if only because his voice and the "giru giru" thing were annoying.
Honestly, I think the only character I like in GT is Vegeta.

Making the Dragon Radar a character of its own was a cool idea.

Don't like him cuz he's always like "Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru! Giru!"... shit gets old, but I admire his loyalty to Pan for the abuse he takes.
Yeah, I call that sad excuse for "comedy" abuse. Whatcha gonna do about it?

Really like. It's incredibly refreshing to have a non-fighting main cast member added at that point.

I thought everyone here would be PISSED that he died and got to come back, but Artificial Human 16 died for good LOL. I guess having an actual name instead of AH 16 helped.
I like him.

Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
He was annoying in the dub. I couldn't stand Sonny Strait's "Meatwad" voice for him. I'm not trying to turn this into a "dub vs sub" debate, but to me he was more entertaining in the Japanese version with his robotic speech.fadeddreams5 wrote:I only watched GT dubbed. Giru is simply cute. I love him.
The way he teases Pan and always fears her capricious nature provided good comic relief. And obviously he's quite helpful for the heroes.

Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
Nah, don't like. The "giru giru" stuff got really annoying fast.
Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
I don't really mind him. I don't remember a whole lot about GT, so I'm re-watching it. I haven't gone far yet, so I don't have a concrete opinion. I don't hate him, but he's a tad annoying.

Now excuse me as I write an angry letter to Toriyama and TOEI.

Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
A sentient Dragonball Radar? Toriyama should have come up with that, and have Giru as Bulma's sidekick in Dragonball. That's how good of an idea Giru is.

I always have liked him. Question: is it Giru or Gill?

Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
I've always kinda liked his design, and I don't mind him as a character at all either.
As for Android 16 not coming back from the "revive everyone killed by Cell" wish... do we know that for sure or is everyone just assuming that because he wasn't human-based like #17 and #18? He's fully-mechanical, yeah, but he wasn't really the "mindless robot pawn" sort like #19 seemed to be (...and according to GT even he went to Hell and could be revived... XD), he actually went against his kill-Goku programming and everything. Seems like a pretty clear example of the "robot that develops real intelligence/a soul" character type.
Plus, we don't even see #17 until one random panel at the end of the Buu saga... was it even mentioned that he came back until then? For all we know #16 was revived and is still out there somewhere too, he just didn't make another appearance.

Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
I liked Giru and don't mind him. The idea of using him as the Dragon Radar was a fantastic idea and his character linked to Doctor Myuu was good too.
Re: Giru - Like or Dislike?
I like both Giru and Pan... Crazy, right?
