What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
A list of it would be nice.

Re: What are the main inconstancys in Dragon ball Z?
Power Levels. Just...Power Levels.
Re: What are the main inconstancys in Dragon ball Z?
-Battle repercussions / Physical durability - sometimes the extent of damage that both characters and inanimate objects take doesn't seem proportionate with the level of power behind the attacks dishing out that damage.
-Power levels - I don't think I need to elaborate on this one.
*Possible inconsistencies:
-Beerus' shock over Frieza's demise, even though he should be fully aware of beings like Kaioshin and Dabura.
-Gohan turning SSJ - we don't know enough about the Ultimate form to legitimately deem this as an actual inconsistency.

Kaioushin yes, but why would he necessarily be aware of Dabura? There's no indication or reason to believe he would have had any interaction with Dabura at any point.supercat wrote:-Beerus' shock over Freeza's demise, even though he should be fully aware of beings like Kaioshin and Dabura.

Battle Powers. 90% of all inconsistencies in Dragon Ball stem from that.

How about events and such anything like that including Akira statements and or manga vs anime scenes.

Re: What are the main inconstancys in Dragon ball Z?
Oh geeze. I'm sure there's a larger collected list somewhere. I wouldn't mind incorporating it into a larger feature that I've been working on for the site... it's certainly relevant. A couple off the top of my head...
The first to second wish in the series is only made after about an eight month time period, not a full year.
Trunks names #19 and #20, but he doesn't recognize them and instead it's #17 and #18 that he's referencing / knows. The out-of-universe answer is because Toriyama swapped the intended villains.
In Jaco, Omori mentions that Bulma has already graduated from university, but way back in the manga she says she is on summer vacation from school and then even mentions skipping school entirely in the RRA arc 'cuz it's dull.
Not strictly manga-related, Toriyama coming up with completely new explanations for where the Kaioshin come from and then yet another completely different one and then he doubled back on it all over again.
Like the above, if you start going outside of the manga itself, there are plenty more... but that's not to say there aren't a ton within the manga itself.

Re: What are the main inconstancys in Dragon ball Z?
To be fair, what actually happened was that Toriyama's original explanation was reprinted in the Full Color Comics without anyone knowing/caring that he had more recently provided a different explanation. There wasn't any "doubling back" on his part.VegettoEX wrote:Not strictly manga-related, Toriyama coming up with completely new explanations for where the Kaioshin come from and then yet another completely different one and then he doubled back on it all over again.

Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
Fair point indeed, if we assume that's what happened (and it does seem to be that, with those answers basically being republished verbatim).

Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
To me its the final chapters of the manga and final episodes of dbz where goku fights uub I don't understand how someone like goku was struggling with some like uub who is not even as strong as kid buu even in his base form
Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
Can't she have graduated University and still go back to school to learn things? There are several people who will do various degrees at university, one after another.VegettoEX wrote:In Jaco, Omori mentions that Bulma has already graduated from university, but way back in the manga she says she is on summer vacation from school and then even mentions skipping school entirely in the RRA arc 'cuz it's dull.
Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
He didn't seem to be struggling. I actually think he was taking it easy on Uub. Vegeta even says that he, Goku and Majin Buu doesn't fight with their full power in those tournaments. Anyways, we don't know for sure how strong Uub is, but since he is the reincarnation of Buu, I believe he could endure a fight against an unpretentious Goku.vegeta623i wrote:To me its the final chapters of the manga and final episodes of dbz where goku fights uub I don't understand how someone like goku was struggling with some like uub who is not even as strong as kid buu even in his base form

Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
I think the most famous one is when Cell comes back after his near-death power-up and says he can regenerate as long as the nucleus in his head is intact... apparently forgetting that Goku blew his entire head off with a Kamehameha a while back.
There's also the fact that Jeice says that Vegeta's power against Recoome is "close to 20,000" when his power was measured to be 24,000 a while back by Zarbon, and he even got a near-death power-up a while after. This was later fixed both in the Daizenshuu 7 guidebook the Kanzenban release of the manga, since they edited it to "close to 30,000".

Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
During the Red Ribbon Army arc, the Three-Star Dragon Ball somehow zoomed its way from Pilaf's Castle across the ocean, found the underwater pirate base, zoomed through the traps, took a right turn in the corridor, found the dead end, dove into the water, and placed itself under a rock.

I always figured it just came crashing down at super speed that it broke the wall of the cave and forced itself inside.B wrote:During the Red Ribbon Army arc, the Three-Star Dragon Ball somehow zoomed its way from Pilaf's Castle across the ocean, found the underwater pirate base, zoomed through the traps, took a right turn in the corridor, found the dead end, dove into the water, and placed itself under a rock.
Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
i know there are lots but i just tell the one's which i can tell right away.
1.) the different sizes of zenkai boosts.
for example when vegeta nearly died on earth he was an 18.000 after healing i am not exactly sure but i think it has been stated by dodoria something over 20.000.
when goku nearly died in ginyus body and recovered afterwards he had 3.000.000 and before when he powered up in front of ginyu he had 180.000.
2.) why can furiiza and many others keep their bodies in hell? i havent seen the fukkatsu no f movie but i think furiiza trained like 4 months to be as strong in the movie, but i am not exactly sure. however if he kept his body for more than 10 years in hell why didnt he train there?
3.) how could pikkuhan defeat super perfect cell with one blow and then lose to ssj goku, who hasnt had a change against regular perfect cell like a day ago?
4.) after fat buu spited out the evil why didnt he spit out kid buu? evil buu or thin buu or whatever you wanna call it is the pure majin buu form like kid buu.

He was trapped in some kind of cocoon, so he couldn't train at all.Alex9196 wrote:2.) why can furiiza and many others keep their bodies in hell? i havent seen the fukkatsu no f movie but i think furiiza trained like 4 months to be as strong in the movie, but i am not exactly sure. however if he kept his body for more than 10 years in hell why didnt he train there?

Re: What are the main inconsistencies in Dragon Ball?
from where is that picture? and if he was, how could he terrorise hell with cell in the otherworld tournament saga and watch goku vs kid buu completely free. (i am aware that those are filler but it still wouldnt make sense to me)
by the way that picture wasnt in the original manga was it?
