James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

When Beerus said when the Dinosaurs where rude to him then maybe Earth did had sapient dinosaurs millions of years ago. By rude, it sounds like that they where not very nice to him when he arrive on Earth 65 million years ago. Earth in DB is a fictional earth then ours, so anything is possible.

They have sentient dinosaurs in in "present time" DB -- The pterodactyl that kidnaps Bulma talks to her and Giran is a sentient dinosaur. Maybe they are endangered species, though. That said, all sentient animals other than like Pu'ar, Oolong, Karin, and Turtle are being phased out so maybe smart dinosaurs are gone, too.

What I really want in Super are references to The Dog King/Emperor. He was the best.

When chapter one came out I thought the manga was pretty pointless. I have changed my mind now. I love the retelling of the two movies, hopefully Yamcha will replace Muten Roshi in the fight against those 1000 soldiers.

why not just have both? It'd be awesome to see all the Z fighters fighting Frieza mooks. I just hope piccolo doesn't job to the red guy.

Didn't Tien said in ROF to tell Yamcha and Chazou to stay away because it was too dangerous?

Apparently, there were some pages from chapter 3 that were released during the Jump Victory Carnival.

Did Kaio want to find out about SSGod?

Also the balls don't disperse. I guess we can take this as an answer to the debate about, if it was only the Earth ones that was made to do it.

If those images are legit, it looks like in the near future we really might see an explanation of how Kaio got his planet back.

...Likely right as Goku and Beerus wreck the place.

Ah, that makes sense, I completely overlooked the fact that we see it pop back into existence.
I guess this takes place not long after the Buu Arc then and is just a Little bonus, rather than being part of the BoG plot.

This isn't chapter 3, it's a special chapter that explains how Kaio got his planet back!

Where is this special chapter from? They couldn't possibly have the next issue of V-Jump already.

Jump Victory Carnival (previously the "Saikyo V Jump Festa") is taking place right now. Each year, the event gets its own little booklet that contains information about the event, promotions, etc. They also include special bonus chapters from V-Jump / Saikyo Jump / etc. authors. There have been contributions from Toyotaro for the last several years; 2013 and 2014 were Victory Mission bonus chapters. Naho Ooishi also contributed bonus chapters of Dragon Ball SD the same two years with Trunks travelling back in time (and a short two-page comic the year before that).

Eh, I think I liked it better with Battle of Gods and Super's implication that he restored it himself. Like when Goku asks why he doesn't fix the house he destroyed with the car with his powers, instead of building it all from scratch again as we see him do.

I think Kaio was asking for something else (?) but Goku jumped in and asked to restore the planet.

Kaio certainly seemed disappointed after it all.

Maybe he just wanted his planet back to it's original size so that he had more space to drive, but Goku wished for it to be restored back from when Cell blew it up (because he didn't know any better)? Hard to say without knowing the language. xD

Kaio has asked Muri to come over so that he can use the dragon balls to restore his planet. Kaio wants to wish for a bigger planet, with a race track, a gorgeous house, etc. Goku suddenly pops by (he heard Kaio was having his planet restored), and says the planet would be no good for training if it were like that, so instead he wishes for it to be restored to exactly the same as before. Then he says he needs to get back to his fieldwork before Chi Chi yells at him, and takes off. Kaio is quite upset that his planet's exactly the same size as before. Muri seems unconcerned and takes his leave.
