What's so silly about having an extra copy that you can sell for a lot later? Plus, if something was to happen to a few of your original disks, you'd have spares.MajinVejitaXV wrote:I actually considered it, but I decided it was silly ;pCastor Troy wrote:It's so cheap that I almost feel like getting a 2nd set!

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

You don't like this kind of quality improvement?SuperFusion wrote:That's an awesome deal, but I already have the FUNi DVDs and I'm satisfied with them, so I think I'll let this pass me by. I'm not much of an intense quality freak.

Its even better watching it on the screen in movement as well.

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

It's really not that uncommon for some one not to spend $220+ on something they technically already own, even if it's a different version. know if I were less of a reject, I'd do it. My focus on iddy biddy differences and shit prevented me from getting a fist full of cheap-as-chips Kurosawa movies, which i regret dearly.ect5150 wrote: You don't like this kind of quality improvement?

I know, I own most of the series too, but its practically my only "out" ... I don't keep up in video games or anything else, and I really don't keep up with most other anime either. If you're budget constrained, I could see skipping it. But if you do, you are missing out.

It would be interesting to find out the exact situation with this movie boxset, because it is bizarre how approaching a year later they're still selling first hand from select online retailers, when the other sets were limited editions and any surplus after the pre-order stage were gone within hours. CD Japan and Yes Asia! also seem to have stock as well, and yet I am still unconvinced that TOEI have made this a standard commercial release, because for what the set is, with its extra booklets, fancy casing, and pair of scouters it doesn't seem commercially viable to have this large package rolling out of factories for everyone to buy. And yet at the same time it would have to be one huge surplus that all these retailers have and that seems equally unlikely.

So...you're accusing reputable retailers of fraud or what?b_boult wrote:It would be interesting to find out the exact situation with this movie boxset, because it is bizarre how approaching a year later they're still selling first hand from select online retailers, when the other sets were limited editions and any surplus after the pre-order stage were gone within hours. Truth be told, Pony Canyon did the other 4 DragonBoxes, and Toei either made a larger surplus than Pony Canyon had before or their version of 'LE' differs. All three retailers don't charge until shipping, I believe, so it doesn't really hurt to order anyhow assuming you can afford it to begin with.
