50% percent off?! That's bleedin 250 bucks!
That is a excellent deal!

Now I'm definitely buying that. It'll take ages, but I'll buy it. Heh, by the time I get money, it may be reduced even more.

Oh GOD I want it. But I just can't spend 220 on something. I asked and I asked for it for Christmas, but 100 was everyone's limit. :x

Hey, at least I can expect a GREAT MONKEY BABY under the tree.

Had I known that the Movies Dragon Box wasn't gonna sell for crap over at Amazon, I'd have held out on my purchase until now.

How I wish the other sets had as many copies unsold on Amazon as the Movies does. :<

Are these 1st hand copies? Even if I display the page in English I'm getting all kinds of bullshit, and I want definitive confirmation they are not second hand ebcause I've already been scammed once.

What's so silly about having an extra copy that you can sell for a lot later? Plus, if something was to happen to a few of your original disks, you'd have spares.

It was worth waiting this long!
Not only did I just get enough money to buy the box, but it also dropped the price by 50%!
Happy happy, joy joy!

Well I've ordered. Curiously enough I noticed that CD Japan is still selling these sets too, although Play Asia is still out of stock/print.

It's really not that uncommon for some one not to spend $220+ on something they technically already own, even if it's a different version. know if I were less of a reject, I'd do it. My focus on iddy biddy differences and shit prevented me from getting a fist full of cheap-as-chips Kurosawa movies, which i regret dearly.

But George Lucas has something different to say about that ;)

...
...

I know, I own most of the series too, but its practically my only "out" ... I don't keep up in video games or anything else, and I really don't keep up with most other anime either. If you're budget constrained, I could see skipping it. But if you do, you are missing out.

Heh, but George Lucas is kind-of full of shit, despite his contributions to home theatre/theatre in general improvements. ;)

It would be interesting to find out the exact situation with this movie boxset, because it is bizarre how approaching a year later they're still selling first hand from select online retailers, when the other sets were limited editions and any surplus after the pre-order stage were gone within hours. CD Japan and Yes Asia! also seem to have stock as well, and yet I am still unconvinced that TOEI have made this a standard commercial release, because for what the set is, with its extra booklets, fancy casing, and pair of scouters it doesn't seem commercially viable to have this large package rolling out of factories for everyone to buy. And yet at the same time it would have to be one huge surplus that all these retailers have and that seems equally unlikely.

This is an incredibly tempting offer, maybe after Christmas I might try and order it. I've never ordered from Amazon Japan before, do you need to sign up a new account or can I use my UK Amazon account on Amazon Japan?

So...you're accusing reputable retailers of fraud or what?

Truth be told, Pony Canyon did the other 4 DragonBoxes, and Toei either made a larger surplus than Pony Canyon had before or their version of 'LE' differs. All three retailers don't charge until shipping, I believe, so it doesn't really hurt to order anyhow assuming you can afford it to begin with.
