Was the Android Arc pointless?
Re: Was the Android Arc pointless?
To skip my favorite portion of the series. What is the world coming to?
Re: Was the Android Arc pointless?
Android arc is a decent piece of character development.
Especially Vegeta's for that matter. It shows the bits between Frieza arc and Buu arc.
End Of Frieza arc: Vegeta is a lot calmer than before than before and for a while is ready to stay at earth.
Android arc: surprisingly Vegeta has grown a family yet, his obsession with Goku continues as he shows little to no affection to his wife or son.
Buu arc: with Goku's death Vegeta has become a lot more focused on himself as well as his family.
And his character is only changing more and more through New material.
Also android arc has some character development for Gohan aswell.

Re: Was the Android Arc pointless?
The Android saga gave us #18. Mr. Satan also attained his hero status as a result of it, which in turn led to Videl's role as a hero in Satan City.
That's pretty much the only lasting effect of the saga. Unfortunately, 18 is underused, Mr. Satan was already popular prior to this, and Videl's entire personality was changed recently.
Besides all of that, it really was pointless. What bugs me is that Cell is the only major villain who never gets referenced.

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Do you mean he doesn't get referenced in the Buu arc or something else?fadeddreams5 wrote:Besides all of that, it really was pointless. What bugs me is that Cell is the only major villain who never gets referenced.
He does get referenced in the Buu arc, when Goku compares him to Dabra and later on, when Mr. Satan takes off to fight Buu(even got an image reference).

Yeah, 18 is extremely underused. Toriyama almost ignored her potential entirely, especially when Toriyama could have easily had her as a main fighter against Boo, but that didn't make the cut.fadeddreams5 wrote:The Android saga gave us #18.
