Better opening sequence: BT/Sparking! or BT/Sparking! Neo
Out of the two games, which opening do you like the most?
I, myself, really liked Budokai Tenkaichi and found Budokai Tenkaichi 2 somewhat lacking. (Why are they fighting in space??)
Also if you want to add some notable mentions, feel free.

Urm... they both suck so much, they cancel each other out, and then theres a rocket launcher, and it shoots chainsaws.... and the chainsaws explode... EXTREME!!!
YAY FOR ME BEING LESS RANDOM THAN THE SPARKING! NEO OPENING!!!
Anyways, I didn't mind the Sparking! opening, aside from the giant, creepy, bulky Freeza. I actually thought it was kinda neat... though a Budokai 2/3 opening would've been appreciated.
Sparking! NEO on the other hand... well, it made Head Cha-La less enjoyable for me...

I agree. Nothing against the others, but the opening of Budokai 2 is the best, with Budokai 3's opening next to it.Chuquita wrote:They both seemed rather gooey in terms of how the models appeared. Like you'd poke one of them and your hand'd go right through it like jello. @_@
Budoukai 2's opening is my all-time favorite of recent games.
Back on topic. I prefer Sparking's rather than Sparking Neo's Opening.

I prefer Sparking! over Sparking! NEO's, basically because the NEO opening was just ... not done right. There were way too many random moments for my taste with more "standing-around-waiting-to-take-a-piss" than all the cut-scenes in the first Sparking! combined, the fighting in space made no sense, and nearly the entire thing screamed of Windows Movie Maker transitions. I mean seriously, some of the transitions in that opening, you can do the exact same things if editing something in WMM. It just seemed rushed and not as good as it could've been, which doesn't help things considering the digital 2D openings of B2/B3/Sagas are superior as it is.
The only thing I honestly liked about the Sparking! NEO opening was in the Japanese counterpart, how a certain moment in the opening seemed to match with Cha-La perfectly, when Goku's collided blasts with Freeza and smiling while flying...then even that gets ruined by the following amateur-ish transitions. And heck, I don't even have the Japanese version, I picked up the NA version where the song (while an okay instrumental) does nothing to match with the opening. Oh NEO, NEO, how I'd like to sic Mr. Smith on your intro's blobby ass.

I always thought Sparking! had a cool cutscene, but NEO seems a bit strange. Reguardless, Sparking! is the one I prefer. I think both of them suffer from the Japanese music. Don't get me wrong; I love 'We Gotta Power', and 'Cha La Head Cha La' I've been in love with for ages -- But making a new, strange video that isn't even timed to these songs, songs we're all VERY familiar with, just isn't going to cut it in our psyches. With the American version's music, both seem better. But NEO, even with the new music, is still pretty silly.

To be honest, I've seen homemade screensavers that were better than both intros. But if I have to choose one it would be the original Sparking! intro. The sequel's intro was so bizzare (Bebi and Cell?). Why did they continue the 3D trend? Didn't they receive any feedback? Final Bout, a bad game, had a better intro then Sparking!,an okay game. Don't judge a game by its intro, blah blah blah.

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

I like the first one better, Gohan and Piccolo fighting Cell together, Vegeta gets his revenge against Freeza and Goku fights Buu once more. And in the end, Vegeta and Goku had a quick fight. The second one was weird, Cell with Baby? (WTF?) Future Trunks was everywhere (I think they were FT fans) and every one used genatic ki blasts.
I feel sorry for Future Gohan.
Everyone's like, "What?! What are you doing with two arms?! You tear that off right now, mister!"

Lol'ed.

Yeah, and Goku's "Kamehameha" looked horrid.gohanku wrote:I like the first one better, Gohan and Piccolo fighting Cell together, Vegeta gets his revenge against Freeza and Goku fights Buu once more. I didn't really like any of the game intros for any of the DBZ games. I don't like the new way they're drawn and the 3D ones were okay.
I mean, look at the way Cell is in these:

http://www.daizex.com/multimedia/images ... _3/067.jpg
Look how huge his grin is. Is he trying to be Buu or something?
And Freeza:

This actually looks like him:

I like the way the animation is in the show better. Look at this picture of Cell doing a Kamehameha to Gohan:

More shiny, has more "depth," but for some reason it doesn't really have the same "feel." Compare that to the series:

Which one looks better? The newer ones have a GT style to them.

After 2 months with the game, I starting to warm up to BT2's intro. To me it seems like they were trying to incorporate gameplay styles in the opening, therefore I'm not hating it as much as I was before even though certain things still don't make any sense.
