The image to the right looks better but the one to the left changed his expression and what it conveyed to an entirely different one. In the original, Goku noticeably receives a physical shock that is very apparent in his face, like getting the air kicked out of you. The redrawed one doesn't transmit that and hardly looks different than if Goku was attacking in terms of expression.

Also, why change the color of his clothes? They are supposed to be that color, not golden.

I agree. The effect we see on the left isn't the same. There's other model issues with the face, but that's not one of them. As far as gold goes, I think most fans (including myself) really just prefer the look.

I think its because some video games have Goku's gi turn gold when he activates Super Saiyan 3, don't know if the anime ever did that.

Goku in movie 12 and 13 had glowing clothes without aura either. If SSG can make your shoes white then SSJ3 can glow your clothes.

You are missing the point. The redrawing actually changed something that a) had no need to be changed and b) actually made more sense as it was originally. That's my point. I'm aware that it's trying to mimic some other instances of the anime, but that doesn't make it needed or makes it so it makes more sense like this than how it was originally color-wise.

Actually I think SSJ3 also produced brighter colors in the manga too

To be fair. DB Super the first time SSJ3 didn't brighten up the clothes. Even BoG did it.


But I see your point. I think it was dumb to change it too since it was never that color in the episode.

I don't see it as dumb considering Goku's also off model throughout most of the episode. If whoever made that feels that the gi should be that color then so be it, they're correcting it as they see fit, not basing it to look inline with the episode itself.
