I can see it now. Present Cell miraculously survived Trunks' and Kuririn's attack due to Piccolo's cells and gains an incredible zenkai boost enough to make him stronger than Golden Freeza! He goes to Hell and fuses with Future Cell to create the ultimate warrior, even stronger than Whis! Meanwhile, Goku and Vegeta are in universe 6 while Cell goes to Earth. He kills everyone including Videl, and Gohan flips out, achieving his SSGSSGSSGSS form due to his sheer potential alone.

Don't forget to add that Cell really wants Goku, and Goku alone. He also has no real animosity towards Gohan because he's not Goku. Oh and the dust is what KO's him. He gets an allergic reaction and starts suffocating. Then we have Goku come in as Super Saiyan God Jesus Chuck Norris Super Saiyan.
