Battle of Z underrated?

Post by ShadowDude112 » Sat Aug 22, 2015 4:27 pm

I know this term gets thrown around a lot, but I honestly feel Battle of Z is underrated. I won't lie, I think I might like it better than Xenoverse. The different types of characters, Melee, Ki Blast, Support, and Interfere all make the game very interesting. Especially because they all have different special moves that some others don't have. I like the team system in Battle of Z a lot more than Xenoverse. It really sucks having shit AI teammates in Xenoverse, or shit teammates in general. Battle of Z fixed that as it's main aspect was the team based fighting. So everyone really did work well together. I also liked how you could customize your characters with cards and not clothing/having pre-set stats. That really helped the customization for me, and I loved how you could mess around with the colors for the characters, as that helped them stand out in some places too. I can't be the only one who feels this way. Battle of Z is a great game and doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

It is a pretty fun game, I only got it a few months back so still haven't beat it yet. Coming off of Xenoverse I'd say you're right about the battle system being a bit more interesting. But aside from what you mentioned there isn't really anything in it that you can't get in Xenoverse and I only really find it enjoyable in short bursts as opposed to a few other DragonBall games which I could play for hours. What I'm trying to say is I think it's good but in the long run I find kind of a chore to play through. But like I said I haven't beat it yet so I don't know It's fair for me to say that.

Battle of Z has shit AI, too.

That's one of the main complaints for the game.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I had a Lot of fun with this game, when I played the demo I hated it, but after I started getting into the story when I bought it I couldn't stop playing until I beat it. I don't know if I would feel the same way if I wasn't a DBZ fanatic but for what it is I really enjoyed playing it. it doesn't have much replay value once you get the good cards and clear the stages. I wish they added a battle mode so you could choose your team and the opponents team aswell.

I thought the game was alright and it kept me entertained for a few months. It did it's job.

Battle of Z's AI was worse than Xenoverse's by far. They'd just get killed and never revive you when you go down.I personally disliked the 4 different types of character and the Ultimates only being for 5 or so characters was pretty dumb. But overall I liked the game and managed to 1000G it on Xbox 360.

It was okay. The story mode was terrible since there was hardly a story. The game has the worst story mode since BT1 in my opinion. I did like the whole 4 vs. 4 battles since it did felt like a throw back to DBZ Legends. The game could have been great, but the AI, bad story mode and the camera really killed it for me.

I thought Battle of Z was okay. IMO the AI was significantly better than Xenoverse since they actually fought & took out opponents, could be leveled up, could be somewhat controlled, and stayed the fuck out of your way unless there was only one opponent on-screen. Even then, they were nowhere near as aggressive on "Leave It To Me" than "Combine Your Power" or the other one that wasn't defensive. My only issue with BoZ's AI was the revival, but only because of the time limit and the occasional time where your Support type missed and just flew off or stood there because (I think) they're programmed to think it's all good when they do their revival attack, regardless of whether they reached you or not. And then there's Xenoverse, whose AI is nothing more than a disruptive meat shield.

Combat-wise, BoZ definitely sucked compared to other DBZ games. But as a team-based fighting RPG (or some shit like that), it was pretty good. I hope Artdink gets another try at DBZ games so they can improve on BoZ and hopefully bring it what they learned from making SAO: Lost Song.

BOZ was a unique concept that was marred by horrible AI and poor character balancing. It wasn't the worst, but it failed to deliver in several aspects that could have made the game much more replayable.
