I don't know why people lie to themselves by thinking there is a hidden or a legit answer for power levels in FNF. It's painfully obvious they don't care in the slightest, and that's why those issues exist. You can make up all the answers ya want, but it's unlikely the creative team put any thought into power levels. They put their thought in to the story, characters, and animation.

Except that the "power levels" being off DOES effect the story. It creates plot holes. These characters can't be as strong as Zarbon, beating the crap out of post-Buu Piccolo.

Tough shit. They don't care. The most care I think I saw was with Toriyama saying in his brief army script that Gohan was the strongest among the fighters on earth (not counting Goku and Vegeta) with Piccolo being strong too. That's about the best you're gonna get. Other than that they don't care about levels. Hell they have Freeza act like 1.3 million was still some big achievement. You can twist that wording all you want, but in the end it's clear there's no care about consistent power levels. Super continues this trend too.

Hell, lemme give it a try: Toriyama hates mimes because Chaouzu blew up and was never really seen much. Total legitimate fact that I claim to be true but have no basis in which to prove it.

I hope it's a glimpse of SSGSS, it would make the most sense. And i don't see why it would call reverting back to his base form or SS "unexpected"...i mean, we were not supposed to think Goku would be a SSG permanently, were we? Changing back isn't really unexpected.

Well, the NEP tomorrow should give us answers.

Ah, so they are keeping to BOG's version instead of changing it up with the power-ups and how he get them.

While I am always sad to see ssjg Gokû go (and while I still can't bring myself to like blueper because it's "that boring recolor that replaced the cute thing I liked"), Super did give ssjg Gokû a nice final hurrah in doing a completely fresh battle and it lasted episodes longer than expected. I've long made peace with all this.

Bring on the fun "Gokû and Vegeta are classmates" shenanigans, Toei. :3

I said this on Twitter already, but I can repost it here, too.

Having Goku prevent back to Super Saiyan is a bit disappointing, but not unexpected. Since they aren't going to have Super Saiyan God expire at the end of the battle or have him go Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan instead, It would be nice if they address the issue afterward though. Maybe use the Dokkan Battle explanation where Whis tells him that if he trains with his new god powers, he could probably get it to work with Super Saiyan and have the form evolve, or whatever. Just something to add a bit more of an explanation in the series proper.

As per recent history, Goku dropping out of Super Saiyan God and then powering back up into Super Saiyan (or maybe he just drops into SS rather than base, who knows) could be the final thing that happens in the episode. It certainly wouldn't be the first time descriptions didn't seem to match the episode they were attached to, only for it to kinda work in the end.

Super is even more ridiculous with power levels than the movies ever were, and it's only getting started. Also canon...where?...I've never heard anyone say anything was canon. The site has to bring up that fact like a billion times when canon threads keep popping up.

In the movie Toriyama said he wanted Goku to be Ssj during the final battle which is OK but if the next arc is going to have the hair be Blue due to him absorbing Ssjg's power then they need to explain why it was Yellow during his battle with Beerus.
