Sure you can. I could also make all of the Dragon Ball movies fit if I wanted to, too. It wouldn't make any dang sense, but sure. I could force it in there. Somehow. Maybe Goku and Bulma just got amnesia and re-met each other 3 times.Captain Space wrote:They're not saying they want it to happen, they're just saying that if you really stretched and squashed it you could make it work with vaguely-reasonable explanations for everything (albeit ones there's no real evidence for, just not totally-out-of-the-blue ones).FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:Don't be that guy. Let's not make Super and GT still fit in the same timeline because you would just make a giant mess. Alternate timelines and continuities exist for a reason. Other franchises do it and it would be cool if Dragon Ball did. Having everything exist in the same timeline or continuity would cause major plot holes and would make everything super messy. I would just say that DB Movies 1-4, DBZ Movies 1-13, GT, the live action movies, Dragon Ball Online and Episode of Bardock are set in their own continuity outside of the manga.

When I say it can just about match up, I mean stuff like saying "Goku is so powerful in GT because divine-power-absorbed!" "Beerus is just asleep during GT!" "The Pilaf gang were planning on wishing back to adulthood anyway!" Stuff like that, that was in no way intended by the authors of GT or the new material, but also doesn't require completely making the kind of stuff you're saying up.
...
I now realise I completely forgot the existence of SSGSS XD Okay, a permanently-attained, appearance-altering god form is pretty final, I guess this only worked before RF came along. Never mind XD
(Note also that I never wanted it to be one timeline and I never thought of it as one, I was just trying to explain why some people do and why that's okay. Only I guess...it's sort of not now? I dunno.)

everythings canon but no one in-universes notices how broken their own universe really is.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Okay, I may be little late to the party to comment on this but I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to these episodes. In particular, EP 16, because it's been so damn long since Krillin has made a casual visit to Goku. The two of them are brothers from other mothers, for crying out loud! They should be hanging out more often!alakazam^ wrote:They are summaries.SSJ3 Vegeta wrote:Is that episode titles for episodes 13-20?

Also, Pan being born should be one of the more heartwarming moments Dragon Ball has ever produced. I just pray Toei don't screw it up. And If EP 20 summary is to be taken at face value, then the ROF-retelling is going to be moving at quite a quick pace. I mean, "A never-before-felt threat is approaching Earth!" that's gotta be Freeza. No way they would hype up foot-soldiers like Sobert and Tagoma that much. I'm also really looking forward to seeing Jaco in EP 20, too.

I'm very late to the party, but wow, the pacing is speeding up here, and that's great. It should be a wonderful, lighthearted moment when Pan is born, it also presents them with a unique opportunity to show Goku becoming a Grandfather (as with Gohan & Goten, we never saw him experience those moments).Lord Beerus wrote:Okay, I may be little late to the party to comment on this but I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to these episodes. I would say Episode 20 is referring to Freeza, but in a more suggestive way - though it depends on when they introduce Sorbet, and his plans to travel to earth in search of the Dragon Balls. I suppose it is possible they could have the whole scenario take place in around 10 minutes, then have Jaco show up right at the end to tell Bulma Freeza has been resurrected.
I quite want Toei to show some of Freeza training, it'd be hilarious seeing him in a tracksuit and using a punchbag!.

I prefer the just do what you want option. Like what you like. Dislike what you don't like. Take Dragon Ball for what it is. A fun shonen for young boys that can be enjoyed by all. Canon, non canon, whatever. It's Dragon Ball.ekrolo2 wrote:Hypertime is the best solutioneverythings canon but no one in-universes notices how broken their own universe really is.

I'm just sitting here both pleased and yet laughing that we're finally going to see an actual child's birth so-to-speak in the series rather than just a time skip happening and, BOOM, baby. I mean, think about it - every other new child character in the series comes out of nowhere after we've had a time skip. Gohan, Trunks (I'd say Trunks counts still, since the only reason he's not a surprise is because of his future self popping in first), Goten, Marron, Pan via the original ending for Z, Bra. I've always thought of timeskips to be the Dragon Ball world equivalent of the old stork myth - oh, a few years skipping ahead in the story? Someone's gonna have had a kid!
So to see that finally be dealt with even a bit...I have mixed feelings.

It makes me have a little hope that perhaps something special may come of Pan, or something special may come of Gohan and Videl. If a whole episode is being dedicated to this moment. I'm kinda worried it's not gonna mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. I can count on Mr. Satan though to make it the best child birth scenario ever probablyGyt Kaliba wrote:I'm just sitting here both pleased and yet laughing that we're finally going to see an actual child's birth so-to-speak in the series rather than just a time skip happening and, BOOM, baby. Gohan will get the ultimate smacked out of him by a villain. Pan will save him. She actually trained inside Videl.

Come episode 25 I wonder what the new ED will be like, do they base it off of F because the next couple(or more than a couple) will probably be F, do they make it non specific, or do they start teasing Universe 6? I personally hope they hold off on doing an 3rd ED until the F arc is done and then relaunch the show with a big new marketing push along with a new OP and ED based on Universe 6.
Speaking of, when would you guys like the F arc to end, and when do you actually think it will end? I would personally like it to end at about episode 26, but something tells me it won't end until around Episode 30.
But if you consider 5 the start of the BoG arc and 19 the start of the F arc(based on the description of the episode) then the F arc would be 8 episodes if it ends at 26, only 2 less than BoG and F doesn't really have a place in the middle to drag out like the BoG arc did, though they could drag out the events before Freeza comes back to Earth and just have Jaco's coming in episode 20 be him informing Bulma that Freeza has been brought back to life, or maybe he has a contact in Freeza's forces and he's been informed that Freeza will be coming to earth with his army in X number of months.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I know it would be a bit of odd timing since Super Saiyan God was still a thing this episode, but I'm kinda sad they didn't update the OP animation with little bits of Resurrection "F" related material though like they did for Dragon Soul's run.
Anyway, I think the third ED will focus on the characters at the end of "F" and tease moving on to Universe 6 without revealing anything specific, like new characters or anything.

I feel the same about the OP, it would have been nice for them to replace the Super Saiyan God tease with a Bluper tease at the very least, though I guess that is still possible, they might just be saving it for after the BoG arc ends.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I know it would be a bit of odd timing since Super Saiyan God was still a thing this episode, but I'm kinda sad they didn't update the OP animation with little bits of Resurrection "F" related material though like they did for Dragon Soul's run.

It would be nice if Pan's birth turned to be some kind of motivation to Gohan train hard again, but like the HELL that would actually happen lol

You know there's no point in Gohan training, right? He'll only ever be as strong as he was in the Buu saga.Noah wrote:It would be nice if Pan's birth turned to be some kind of motivation to Gohan train hard again, but like the HELL that would actually happen lol
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Anyone else wondering if they're going to go back and fix that first part of the ED for the home release? Because that looks a lot like North and South America instead of Dragon World's Super-Continent.

Doubtful. We've had plenty of shots of the Earth in the last few productions, and I don't think any of them used the Daizenshuu map.

I'm just overly used to the daizenshuu map because it's been the map every time a map has been needed for DB videogames.
Being able to look at that globe in the ED and, for example, clearly pick out Florida's silhouette feels so confusing.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I think one episode in Super people commented that they did use the Dragon Map. But in general, I think they forget. I don't think they will correct it for the ending, but they might in the episodes, I guess.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
So Goten and Trunks still remain kids in Revival of F. Hmm, and this is supposed to be 3 years before EOZ. (7 years after the Majin Buu Saga)
But even if Super takes place 6 months after the Majin Buu Saga, that means that Pan will be almost 10 years old in the EOZ.
Let's see.
