Like I said, Piccolo came to a quick conclusion & didn't put much thought into it (he did the same thing with Gotenks in Boo arc, when he thought that base Gotenks could defeat Evil Boo), which is exactly the opposite thing that you are doing.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Fixed. Personally, I view it as a mini-arc of the manga, and that's how Toriyama, Shueisha, etc seem to view it as well.

hleV wrote:Vegeta's rage power boost (such things are only possible for Gohan and perhaps other Saiyan-Human hybrids)
It's not a contradiction. Actually, like I told you in the movie thread, it is actually kinda supported by the manga, since Vegeta theorized it:
DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Vegeta suspected in the manga that Goku was stronger because he was fighting for the ones he loves. Then in BoG, Vegeta gets stronger when he fights for the one he loves, Bulma (the only other time that Vegeta got angry for someone other than his himself was when Cell killed Trunks, but Vegeta hadn't completely turned into a good guy yet, so I guess that's why he didn't get a rage boost). Toriyama said that Ki is composed from genki (energy), yuuki (bravery), and shouki (true character), so I guess it's related with yuuki and/or shouki.
hleV wrote:mention of Tarble (there should be no pure Saiyans left but Goku & Vegeta)
Toriyama made the original draft of the JSAT, so even if you don't want to take the events of the special as part of the manga, Tarble exists in Toriyama's mind, since he created him. Same for Beers & Whis, since you seem to accept the existence of the characters (didn't you say that you accepted the Kaio Planet backstory?), but not the events of the movie.
hleV wrote:Gohan going SS (he had tried to do that when Rou Kaioshin told him to, but ended up "Ultimate" instead).
Rou Kaioshin told him to get the gist of transforming into a Super Saiyan and throw in a kiai, not to transform into a Super Saiyan. And since it was never stated that Gohan can't transform into a Super Saiyan anymore, and since he obviously didn't become an "Ultimate Super Saiyan" in the movie, it means that he can choose to either transform into his Super Saiyan form, or power-up into his Ultimate state.

The real contradictions are these:
  • Kaio's planet is back for some reason (my head canon: Kaio asked Goku to wish the planet back with the Dragon Balls)
  • Mr. Satan forgot everything about Dende for some reason (I ignore it, since it's too minor & doesn't sound to affect the story at all),
  • Shenlong can grand only 1 wish for some reason (my head-canon: Dende changed the Dragon Balls when he saw that Pilaf was going to collect them all, so that he won't have 3 wishes and bring the world upside-down).

But since Beers destroyed the planet before, why did he have to use a piece of the planet to use it as his planet, instead of fully restoring the planet?

Actually, SSG Goku is stronger than Vegetto because Super Saiyan God is the combination of 6 Saiyans' powers, while Vegetto is the combination of 2 out of the 6 Saiyans' powers.

Boo's absorptions work like an addition IMO, unlike Namekian merging, Fusion, Potara & Super Saiyan God.

Obviously, the main character would be the strongest. Either way, Goku lost the power up, and returned behind Gohan & Gotenks. Hell, even Vegeta can surpass him if he gets angry to protect Bulma or Trunks.

And remember, he re-transformed, and the form timed-out. Not to mention that the manga (28th TB arc), GT, and DBO make it impossible for Goku to have kept the power.
DBZGTKOSDH wrote:He didn't keep it. Years later, in the 28th TB, Goku believed that there was a chance that Oob would beat him, and he was expecting him to be as strong as Pure Boo. In GT, Goku & Vegeta were equals (not to mention that Goku can go Super Saiyan 2, 3, and even 4, but not Super Saiyan God), and in DBO, they even went to space to settle their rivalry, which means that their powers were close. If Goku had kept the Super Saiyan God power, he would be able to beat Oob and Vegeta (from any point of time) literally with just his finger. So yeah, when he transformed into a Super Saiyan God for a second time, the power went away completely.

TheMightyOzaru wrote:And he didn't keep the power in his SSJ form because...? GT isn't in BoG's timeline. Vegeta could have obtained SSJ God as well before the events of DBO.
Check Chozenshuu 4 (or at least the information we have from it). BoG & GT are in the same timeline. And Vegeta getting SSGod is an assumption that can't be proven. But even if you ignore GT & DBO, you can't ignore the manga. Goku expected Oob to be as strong as Pure Boo, he wanted to fight him with 100% of his power, and he believed there was a chance that he would loose (of course, it turned out that Oob required training to learn to use that power, but that's not what we are talking about now). If Goku had kept the power of the Super Saiyan God, then he should be able to defeat Oob (said that Oob had turned out what he expected) with just his finger, in base, without even trying. Not to mention that Vegeta said that if he & Goku were to fight, they would need a whole planet instead of the ring, and Vegeta still believed that he could show Goku defeat. If Goku had kept the power, then the ring would be too big for their fight, not to mention that Vegeta wouldn't be able to reach Goku's power ever. It's impossible for Goku to be that strong during the 28th TB, and even its two different sequels (GT & DBO) support this.

Daizenshuu accepts it as part of the timeline, and GT has Coola, so it seems to be the case.

Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

If it wasn't, then it would have all the movies, but it doesn't.

Or he just considers the rest non canon =/.
The rest take place in (an) alternative universe(s), like Toriyama said. But Movies 1, 5, and 14 seem to take place in the anime universe as well.

BTW, Shueisha is not a person, it's a company. Not a "he".

Shueisha's anime "canon" seems to be the whole anime (DB, DBZ, DBGT, and the 3 TV Specials), DBZ Movies 1, 5, and 14, EoB, and JSAT. That's what they decided to include in their main Timeline. Of course, there is also the alternative universe where all the movies take place (the movie-verses are probably more than one, since there is the 10th Anniversary & the PtEtSS remake), and most likely, there is also the manga universe. Movie 5 happened in the anime. It's a fact. And with all the inconsistencies that there are in the anime, I don't see any problem.

Impossible. All the movies take place in the same world, according to M12.

Kamiccolo9 wrote:Since movie 4 is said to take place at the same time as the Namek Arc in the Daizenshuu, yet movie 5 references the Freeza fight, which couldn't have happened if Goku wasn't on Namek.
With proper imagination, (an alternative) Freeza arc can happen after M4.
Kamiccolo9 wrote:Plus, Toryama's quote that the movies were in different dimensions (plural) than the manga wouldn't really make sense if they were all in the same continuity. The Daizenshuu doesn't even count them all in the same continuity, as seen with it's timeline only counting movies 1 and 5.
I thought that Japanese don't have plural?

That's different. This wasn't the alternative dimension(s), it was the main timeline, where they decided that M1 & M5 tool place there as well. I doesn't mean that these movies never happened in the alternative one(s).

Yet the Sun was destroyed by Coola's Supernova. :P
