I don't really appreciate your sarcasm. I hope you got my point though.

Your Goku pic is broken...(oops, works now) Anyway, come on! As if Chatwin styles himself to look like Goku everyday! Of course he looks like a junkie there, supposedly that stupid facial hair, messy look is in fashion right now. If his eyes got any bigger you'd say he was too bug-eyed. All he needs is some bronzer and good make up. I still say he has a good shaped face for it.

I will watch the movie nevertheless.

I hope Justin manages:

1) Get his "Goku" on
2) Build his muscles up
3) Study Dragonball a bit
4) Get a more happy look than his emo I have seen
5) Train enough martial arts so that he doesn't destroy the beauty or the kamehameha.

I hope I won't get as dissappointed, like with the Mortal Kombat movies. Or with TMNT3. Yeah.

I don't recall there being any kind of special martial arts in Dragonball Z.

It was Rock Em' Sock Em' robots on speed + energy blasts.

I'm not big on this Chatwin thing, but I gotta call shenanigans here. Too small eyes? Goku's a fricken anime character! And if they cast an asian, it isn't like his eyes would be huge. As for looking like a junkie... like you've never seen Goku look stoned. He gets that stupid look in his eye and laughs at innapropriate times. Or some of his ideas... it really isn't that big a leap. I think Grandpa Gohan was growing his own stash (for the glaucoma, you see).

Did you watch Dragon Ball? Later Z devolves into what you described, but the series' roots is a martial arts fantasy. Story-wise, the earth fighters (specifically the Z Senshi as far as the overall story is concerned) are martial artists of various schools. The space pirates and most villains in general simply have a lot of power and tend to just attack using that power and speed.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Quick question: If Marsters is playing Piccolo, does that mean he is playing Kami as well?

This also leads me to the possibility of what would happen if they decide to include Turles somewhere down the line.

Turles in a movie?!

I'd be curious just to know if they'd decide to give him pants or not. (Same with Raditz and Nappa).
On hiatus.

Well...this threads on the movie... which is about the fight with Daimao... which is Dragon Ball... and Godo's comment was on what he hopes Justin Chatwin does to prepare for *this* movie...

So my response still stands.
Anonymous Friend wrote:Quick question: If Marsters is playing Piccolo, does that mean he is playing Kami as well?
Technically, if it is just on Daimao, they don't need to directly address Kami in this one.

And I doubt they'd adapt movie 3. Why make a movie about a movie? I know remakes are all the rage these days, but still...

The guy does have a head/chin shape like goku, but his eyes and other facial features seem a little womanly to me.(It may just be me)

Man, those two are identical. Chatwin and Goku aren't near as identical as the ones in your example.

And this proves that looking the same isn't good enough. Toby Maguire is a shit of an actor. You need to hire ACTORS. Actors can play characters EVEN IF THEY DON'T LOOK LIKE THEM.

From my experience with Chatwin, he doesn't look like the character he's supposed to play, plus his acting is crap. So no good things there.

Wow, you went to the trouble of joining just so you could bitch about the live action movie, without even addressing any of the problems? :?

Remember, the movie isn't made yet. Wait until you at least see a trailer before you declare it a complete disaster. And well, even if it is a disaster... It can't hurt the actual series in any way. At least, nowhere near as bad as Funimation has. (... Seriously, you call that remastering? :P)

I think we just found the Missing DBZ Movie 14 title. On a more serious note, I agree with you this is looking bad. But then, I was worried when they were making Transformers too, I'll see this for morbid curiosity, we'll find out then, how this is.

It was stronger than me :D
And Watch out, you just might regret saying this - "without even addressing any of the problems?" because I can hardly resist of starting description - what is the problem and why it will turn out so bad, which could be full of swearing and apocalyptic sentences...and I don't want it of course.

Well, I would agree about this in 99% of cases, but in this particularly case there is no exceptions and excuses! The fact that Hollywood is making this movie is already 100% proof that is going to be a disaster.

Hollywood movies are full of celebrities, which I deadly don't want in DBZ.
Hollywood always make those unavoidable cheap and trivial scenes...
Hollywood always connect everything with propaganda and commercialism.

And one of the logical reasons why LAM can not be good to me is because live action can NEVER be like anime.
DBZ have a visual style(best and most unique in the world to me btw :D) and live action movies are of course reality.
No matter, even if they try to do it by 3D fiction or masks, they will just ruin it, why just Japanese don't make something like FFAC instead of this, where style will remain the same and it will be visually closer to reality in the same time.

So this cast is nightmare to me, but at least it is better than cast full of celebrities. Or maybe these guys are celebrities? I am not so familiar with it, but I can tell I am getting sick of just imagining them in this movie.

For the end I will quote myself long ago when I first heard about this nightmare idea of DBZ lam:
"WHAT!? NOOO WAY, IMAGINE BRAD PITT DOING KAMEHAMEHA!!! IF I EVER SEE SOMETHING LIKE THAT, I AM GOING TO KILL MY SELF, SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

:D :D :D that was so hilarious!!! You made it really fast :D
Anyway I am glad that you agree :D

@Offtopic I am sorry about grammar and other...I just exploded and wrote it all in 30 seconds, I hope this correction is ok.

Just a warning here, VEGETA_DTX, before you get an official one from Mike. You need to watch your grammar, badly. I've seen a number of your posts on Wiki and these are not better. Typing like that here is a no no, you should probably take another look at the rules. Specifically the first one.
