This is what I've got so far:
Just a little bit more to go... any suggestions on what character image I should use on the back? (e.g, Piccolo, Nappa, Raditz, Yamcha ect...)

I've never actually owned an 'Orange Box', and have only seen the cover from scans over the internet. Since the creation of this thread, I assumed you could slip the paper in just like a regular DVD? (Though after you've asked that question, I'm beginning to think otherwise)

Wow, that really looks great, my only suggestions would be to tidy of the lining around the blurb on the back, the blue doesn't really work there, I would go with the white/silver used around the title logo, not to mention the blue text even though it has a gradient, doesn't work well on the black/blue background.

Seriously, that is one fricken good looking cover. You make that look so professional and totally legit.
The orange boxes have a slip cover, so there is nothing to put what you're making on it. I would suggest just buying a 6-disc case that will have the plastic cover to hold your cover.
But again, great job, it looks fantastic. I wish I knew how to do that shit.

It will work perfectly for the Madman release of the season sets, which are in hard plastic six disc case.

Gorgious work as always, Steven, I really enjoy it every time you post smething. You'd have me sold, I also really dug the Ultimate Uncut style.
For a large character image on the back, I'd suggest Raditz since he isn't featured anywhere else. Perhaps the one of him charging his "double sunday" as he calls it in the dub. If that's a bit too similar to Kuririn on the front, maybe the shot of him powering up his twin blasts to fire at Piccolo and Goku?
Also something that comes to mind is one of the shots of Ten or Yamcha powering up/firing their respective moves in the pendalum room.

Very nice covers!
The only problem is, I don't know how to use them

Maybe you should crack up Vegeta's armor some, he looks too clean next to Goku and Krillin.

Wow, did you illustrate the armor? If so, superb. That should go in the Art thread by the way.

Vegeta looks off, probably because it was originally Buu saga Vegeta before you changed his clothes to Saiyan Armor. I don't like the little bubble behind the 1 on the spine either. Aside from that it looks perfect.

That is a professinoal looking Cover, Big thumbs up, This is the type of cover the fans need, To make all nine seasons like these would be pure awesome. Great Work buddy
p.s I think Raditz would make a good back cover guy, since he kicked off the first series

I think it looks exactly like how Funimation would create a cover, and there's obviously some great technical work in it.
I still think it looks like ass.
-Why is the Funimation logo on there? Repeatedly? These are custom covers, why the hell do you want Funi's logo there?
-Also, why doe sit have the funi website and 'power up for battle at' bullshit on there too?
-And all the Funi mis-information marketing "remastered in High Definition", "Widescreen transfer.." on it?
-What's with the description on the back? Firstly, it sounds awful. Secondly, why would you have it on there at all?
I guess my problems break down to this: why are you making it look like just another Funimation storefront cover, instead of making it look good?

See kids, it's nit-picky shit like this that give Internet Dragon Ball fans a bad name.

Was that shit really neccessary?
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

It may be nit-picky and
bordering on rude, but it's a truthful and legitimate opinion/recommendation that doesn't actually cross the line into
being rude just for the sake of being rude.
Samples of work were posted. Opinions and recommendations were asked for. They were given. If these kinds of responses are not wanted, they shouldn't be asked for.

I just find it kinda ridiculous to criticize these because they're trying to make it look more official.

I guess the point of adding the FUNi logos and such was for a sense of authenticity. The main purpose of this thread originally was to make better-designed covers for FUNi's own releases, not just a "this is how I'D make a Season Set" sort of thing.

I can understand other criticisms, such as Vegeta looking out of place in Steven Perry's first box art, or the Piccolo and Goku images being mirrored, but the stuff that desirecampbell said was ridiculous.

Ridiculous? Okay, then it should be a simple matter for you to explain why all the Funi marketing is on these custom covers.
So, explain.

Hey jjgp1112, if your reply was based on how you think it made me feel, then don't worry; I was on the floor laughing, 'cause that was a damn humorous post written in the classic 'desirecampbell style'. If not, then...
what the hell are you talking about?!
Don't you know Campbell's hardcore?
Look at his avatar.
Anyway, I have to agree with what Desiré wrote. It is mis-information marketing, and it is kinda cheesy. But, like Kaboom said:

The 'Orange box' looks just too plain... and boring... so we thought it'd be a good idea to spice it up with custom covers.

For the sake of not getting this thread locked, I'm going to shut the fuck up because me and Kaboom already said it.
