While I love the idea of Vegeta having a little brother, despite Toriyama's involvement, the whole age plothole with Table means I wont consider this anymore than a throwaway special with some fun ideas.

Which really sucks because if they put just a LITTLE more thought into it... :?
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

A little more depth would have been nice, and a tad bit more fightign than goten/trunks and goku. Tables age DOES make him impossible to exist since the saiyans were destroyed when vegeta was little BUT i like his character design and its a special anyways; i just hope he doesnt have a whiney voice.

Would have loved to see him fight as well.

I love the idea of Vegeta having a little brother who is no good at fighting, especially because I was worried he'd end up being yet another Super Saiyan. But considering the age issue and all, unless Toriyama makes some manga version of this special and/or makes a short continuation of the manga that includes Table, I think it's best to consider Table to be the same as all the other movie characters: a fun addition that doesn't really fit into continuity.

How old is he? I mean, if he's married...

Since Goku was born the year Planet Vegeta was destroyed (a few days before, going by the Barduck special), Table can't be very much younger than Goku. So he'd be 39 at the very least by the time of this special.

Hmmm...I guess there remains some hope that he's not really young-sounding, I mean perhaps the planet he was sent to has high gravity so he stayed small, or something  I mean, just look at his wife; freakin' minuscule.

Apparently neither of them really do much except land and try to get help. I wanted to see him fight, just to see some new action. From the synopsis and the 'Goku punch' it seems like it's rushed for an ending, only having 3 of them fight and all.

So, am I the only one not disappointed in:

-The length
-The tone
-The focus on Goten, Trunks, and Gotenks
-The fact that Table doesn't fit oh-so-meticulously into the timeline?

Because I'm honestly really looking forward to it now that I see it uses a lot of the gag manga aspects of Dragon Ball that I have always found so endearing. Sure, action is great and all, and it can be amazing in Dragon Ball. But the fact is that the movies and specials in the Z era have been very saturated with action and with Goku and Vegeta, that I'm happy to see the change. And some of the movies, in my opinion, overstay their welcome by padding out their runtimes with the typical Shonen anime filler-adding techniques.

We can't even argue that he was conceived prior to the destruction of Planet Vegeta and born after it (making him still 38 at the youngest), since it was the King himself who ordered Tarble to be sent away. Since Vegeta knew about Tarble being sent away, it stands to reason that he was still onworld when it happened, ie: prior to the Bardock special.

So Tarble is officially 39 to 43-years-old (44 is Vegeta).

Also, is it specified that Grey is Tarble's wife and not betrothed?

Actaully, has it been explained whether or not the suspended animation in the space pods halts aging? I mean, did Nappa and Vegeta age a year while traveling to earth?

'Course, unless something is mentioned, then that explanation is dangerously on the side of "fanon".

Well, did they starve for a year?

I suppose it's possible his pod never activated until years after he landed on that planet, on top of taking years to get to said planet, but it doesn't sound like that's even been hinted at. Like Ghost said: "fanon."

The only thing I'm bummed about is the length, I was hoping for at least an hour. But overall I'm stoked to see this thing!

I'm just a little confused on how Table could exist at all since Vegeta states many times that the only Saiyans are himself, Trunks, Goten, Gohan, and Goku.

That was never anything more than an assumption, though, wasn't it? I mean, you figure if a planet explodes there won't be any survivors, and yet the presence of full-blooded Saiyans such as Goku and Vegeta show that there are plenty of ways that other Saiyans could have survived Planet Vegeta's explosion. The possibilities could range from being somewhere else to escaping using some sort of barrier, as Broly did as a small child. But I don't think it was ever safe to assume that they were the only remaining Saiyans, given the full realm of possibilities.

No I pretty much feel the same way, it would have been nice to see a stronger villan as well. Maybe throw a new fusion into the mix or something.

I guess I agree with you there, but it just seems strange to me that Vegeta doesn't have too big of a reaction to "Here's my brother who I've always thought dead."

Perhaps it was some of Vegeta’s Saiyan pride slipping through. Imagine the Royal House of Vegeta having a member that is less of a Saiyan than Son Gohan.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.
