Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

I did listen to the movie's soundtracks and I have to say that they are not that great .
While I was listening to them , Mr. Bean , Video Games and Immediate Music came to my mind .

Old DBZ movies needed very impressive scores to make up for their simple, predictable, and boring plots, but BoG's story is well written that you care less about music, so it does work if it's generic compared to Kikuchi's one-of-a-kind music.

That's much better! Without Toriyama, Battle of Gods is a dark story with a huge lizard.

I love the Vegeta clips so much, him training like a boss at the start is great! Then his dancing just after, wow! I love it all so much! This movie has made me like Vegeta even more, and I didn't think that was possible.

Does anyone remembers that moment in JLU when Batman had to do something for a goddess to save Wonder Woman and they led you to believe it was something terrible, like revealing his secret identity? And then the scene cuts and it's Batman singing "Are You Blue" and it felt like the greatest moment of your life?

Yeah... dancing Vegeta is like that for me now.

From what I've heard snippets of the Soundtrack, it's damn great! Only that some parts felt to me like too much drama, I'm used to this music in Gundam, but never heard it in Dragon Ball.
I still love Kikuchi's work the most, that's Dragon Ball for me, but this OST is better than Yamamoto or whatever the guy from the Bardock and Hachihyaku shorts, that's for sure.

Yeah Sumitomo definitely is better than Yamamoto to me at least. His score is very even that there barely are pieces badly stick out as opposed to Yamamoto's.

Thing is, I'd love to see people actually debate character strengths for a change. But in practice all these strength "debates" just amount to people shouting their opinions at each other and never once listening to what anybody else has to say. It's the opposite of what any forum should be about.

Yeah, he's very consistent. Can't wait to see how it works in the movie actually, then I can judge it better
Also, was suprised by the Dragon Rising DJ Dragon Remix track on the FLOW single, as I didn't like Chala Head Chala or Hero, but this was the first time I heard modern commercial Japanese song and liked it.
Onlyn the lyrics are.... huh, not much going there. J-Pop lyrics are usually retarded, making almost no sense and throwing in english words.

So it's 'Birus' and 'Uis' now eh? I can get used to Birus as I kind of like the way it sounds in my head and looks on paper, but 'Uis' just seems awkward to me for some reason.

Dancing Vegeta is my new favorite thing in the history of ever. That is just...glorious.

Sumitomo's work does feel a bit more varied than Yamamoto's work, too. Stylistically it feels as if he is more comfortable composing music for different situations. That or his audio director was a lot more competent.

I have so many revolving orders of things that I can't even keep track of it and I start getting genuinely surprised when another box arrives filled with crap. Getting slightly ridiculous. In a good way. Also in a totally entitled jerkface way. But that's OK .
