I don't understand the point of posting the images for each thing. Precise timecode is a lot more useful, because that way everyone can sync up and be on the same page.

As for WMM... like most products Microsoft creates, I find it extremely frustrating. If you can make it work for you, I suppose it's fine, but honestly I think it's a little too primitive for the kind of work we're doing.

Just as a test, I used it to import the footage, and it auto-created 267 clips, without prompting me. And that's only for the first 1/3rd of the movie, which took over 15 minutes to do. Assuming they were all the same, you're looking at more than 45 minutes of import time (not render), with 801 individual clips. Not only that, but if the audio and video come from different sources, you are, for some insane reason, only able to play back one or the other; not both at the same time... which makes syncing virtually impossible without the assistance of another program.

I agree, WMM is very... um... primitive.

Is there any way he can still work with it, if it's truly all he has?

If he really needs a (relatively) cheap alternative, I'd suggest Sony Vegas Movie Studio. Very good for only $90...

I don't know much on the subject, or what will really be needed, and I have a lot else to do... Acid, can I please count on you to get this worked out?

Yes. I sent you a PM on the very subject just moments ago actually. I believe with a little more communication, we can break this project into its core components and delegate our talent more efficiently.

That's not bad. That's $70, ten less than what I paid for it (it was on sale at Target...)

Don't go buying anything yet, though. Acid and I need to chat about stuff, so you may or may not end up needing it.

Of course, you still probably just want it anyway, since it's a WHOLE lot better than WMM...

The project we've all worked so hard on deserves to made with better stuff. And also, I'd like to get it 'cause WMM is horrible! I'll be able to learn how to operate it within a week or so.

So yeah, I'll definitely get it.

Oh yeah, I'll be able to get practise now by using the trial version!

Okay okay okay. Lots to do here, lots to do.

To address the matter at hand...

Stevey my boy.

Stevey, Stevey, Stevey...

What... what would you say, if... I was considering, in order to better delegate the workload, I were to tweak your title from Video Editor, to, oh say... "music director," so to speak?

PM or I'm me about it, and I'll tell you more.

Next issue. Voices.

I will do Amond. Easy.

I'm starting up Re-Auditions for Tullece. Hopefully, I'll have them up with directions later this afternoon. From the way things are looking with Kino, we'll need to hold them for Gohan, too. Tullece first, though, to give Kino just a little last bit more time.

The last order of business for now. If we're going to be making a version with the original Japanese music, then we're going to need an accurate list of what we need to get.

So, I need someone who knows their stuff to do some analyzin' and catalogin' of the BGM in the movie, so we can know what to look for on CDs and such.

I ain't, I kinda just like to ... over-exagerate thing sover the internet. I type in caps a lot.

Back on topic, I think I'll just get a new one. Someone I know makes these waaacky recordings and I have yet to be in one, so I have more than one reason to get a new one. I'd only try just for fun, honestly; I haven't seriously done voice acting ever, and I thought this would be a good place to start.

I'm working all week, so I probably won't get anything really good during the few minutes I'll have in the morning but by next Sunday I should have some good stuff.

Oh, and if anyone wants some bgm to add to their audition (or to just "set the mood" for recording) I've got a nice track here.

Yo Kaboom, how long 'til the KEVRG is completed? Once it gets done, we should start recording immediately- while dragging out the Tullece auditions thread for as long as it takes to get a good voice actor. I mean, extending that thread for longer than a week could result in a really talented voice actor coming along; it seems to me that you're keeping it open for only a week so we can all start recording together. Is that necessary?

It's coming along. Should be done in a few days. For the sake of quality and better matching things up, I'm switching to using the DragonBox footage instead of my own rip of FUNi's version, so that's set me back just a bit.

And yes, even if we don't have everyone replaced by the time it's done, we'll still get started recording.

Yo Tullece, I thought your voice acting was pretty good. I wanna review it, but the problem is that I feel what I want to say, but can't always translate it into words...

But whatever. I'll go through the lines you did, with Kaboom's awesome specification (he's a smart guy, that Kaboom fellow), and tell you how I felt.
SSj Kaboom wrote:"Impossible. This is where Kakarrot was sent, years ago..."

(Tullece in a serious mood. Not angry serious, more reflective, thinking and pensive serious. "Earth is still alive? I wonder why Kakarrot hasn't wiped it clean...")
Assuming Tullece is thinking to himself, this one could've been better. I didn't feel all that reflective, and I also think you should use a softer tone (sort of like a whisper) and be a little more quiet. You should try doing it slower as well, with a slight expression of surprise. The key words here are 'pensive', 'serious', and 'reflective'. None of those were achieved, in my opinion.
SSj Kaboom wrote:"I'll give you one last chance, Kakarrot! Bow before me and serve me, and I'll spare your son!"

(Haughty, regal Tullece. Sure, this little punk Kakarrot has been resisting him. But he's a kind tyrant... sort of. He'll give Kakarrot one last chance to lick his boots...)
Oh baby yeah. That one was great- the 'haughty', 'regal', and 'kind tyrant' feel were NAILED. I liked the expression of the phrases 'bow before me' and 'serve me'- giving him that 'regal' feel. You made him feel like one evil mother monster, too. The sibilance of the words 'spare' and 'son' gives him that evil, sinister, 'I'll stop at nothing to get what I want!' feel. Good job; you're a definite candidate.
SSj Kaboom wrote:"We’ll freely roam the cosmos, destroying planets at our whim, and we’ll eat, drink, and take the best the universe has to offer!"

(Tullece being enthusiastic. He's trying to lure Gohan into joining him. Loud and happy-sounding, as if it's the best thing ever to be a lackey for him)
I think Tullece should be more persuasive here- you did him a bit too 'You little bastard! Join me now!'- which I don't think is really suitable at this point (he gets like that shortly before Piccolo makes his grand entrance). He's trying to arouse Gohan's imagination- giving him a chance to experience what he's saying- making it as vivid as possible, and thus sounding more enthusiastic. Tullece has got to sound a little more friendly and persuasive, here. Just imagine you were trying to persuade someone in your family to join you on a night out at the clubs when they initially didn't want to- although at the same time, being sinister and powerful in status (don't overdo this, though).

I'll comment on the rest later. And I also think you should get a better mic... or try and cut down on that sort of saliva-spitting and air-blowing muffling sound that you keep making. I'd really like for you to play Tullece, though.

*Pats head*

EDIT:
SSj Kaboom wrote:"What? A... a battle power of thirty thousand?!"

(Tullece has just scanned Goku, and he can't believe what his scouter is telling him. He's not really worried, or anything, just very surprised.)
Oh and for this one, it's got to be more like 'What! Over 9,000?!'- but just a bit more restrained, and calm.

Thanks! Yeah, but the whole saliva spitting thing, I have this medical condition that makes my tounge like five millimeters longer than it should be, but I'll try to work on it.

And the air blowing is just probably how close I was to my headset. But yeah, I'll get to work on fixing up the mood for those lines

You're our ADR Director now? Steven, the 9,000 joke is dead and buried, no need to revive it in such a minuscule manner.

Also Steven, are you holding some grudge against me? You don't seem to reply to my PMs anymore, posts I've made in reply to you, and now you're ignoring commenting on my own audition (along with others). Are you feeling pissed because I had negative feelings about including the original music track since Acid was whipping us together the original Japanese BGM or something else?

Anyway, who's deciding who gets Tullece, Kaboom alone? And I hope some of you aren't prejudiced to me using Movie Maker, it isn't a bad program if used right.

I use movie maker a lot. All I have to do is make the movies in seperate clips (like 6 minuets) and just combine them all in the end. And seeing as the movie's only like an hour long, you'd only have about 10 or so clips to put together in the end.

And on the topic of music, why not have an option for Japanese BGM and for Dubbies have a custom soundtrack? And maybe a full screen option (footage from the Third Strike DVD Boxset) and a widescreen option (Dragonbox)?

I mean, I see no harm in that one. Or you could make two types of DVDs, or a two disc special edition or something.
