How'd you managed to price match with Target?

Where are they giving it away at? Did they talk about it in the podcast from last week or something?

No. It was an announcement on his Twitter.

At gunpoint. That's how I did it.

 That's cool if they allow you to have a TV and DVD player in jail!
It was actually quite easy and the people there were really cool about it. Grab the Dragon Box and go to customer service and let them know you want to do a price match. Tell them Target has it for $47.00 and they'll pull up the website to verify and sell it to you for that amount.

it was even easier than that for me. I just took it up to checkout and asked if they could do a price match. I showed them a printout of the Target listing and the woman just typed in the new price. She had her manager or someone come and type some code to bypass, but he was there and gone in a second. That was it.

Print outs are cool but they said that they usually double-check so it's best to go to customer service. I'm going to exploit their price matching so goddamn much from now on...

I'm surprised you got away with this. I tried to do the same thing with a video game at Best Buy. I had the actual ad too. But what I did was print out a circuit city ad of the flyer on their website . And then I thought I could price match it. But then the check out lady was going to ask about it. Then when she came back, she said she couldn't, and that I needed the actual advertisement.

So now all of a sudden, they actually let you check out a website for a price match? They must have changed their policy or it must vary from store to store.

I was actually held up at gunpoint on Thursday night in a gas station, the day before I got my Dragon Box. Yes, literally.

For being alive for 17 years, I'd have to say that Thursday was the most intersting night of my life.
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

And people ask me why I got my concealment license...

Did they hold you up at an actual gas pump? Because if so, they're very painfully retarded.

Back on topic though, I should actually be able to sit down this weekend and watch the DragonBox more thoroughly.

What would it mean to be figuratively held up at gunpoint?

To be put in a position where you have to comply unless you want to face a very bad consequence... kinda like being blackmailed I guess.

And also when you keep a monkey as a pet and it decides to bite your face off... or was it a chimp? Hmmm...

Funimation was never going to get a 1:1 source, anything who thinks that needs their head examined.
This isn't what I was addressing. I have no idea what they actually sent FUNI.

Tape is also much more climate sensitive than optical/hard drive media is. The data on tape exists in the physical realm, it is accessed via magnetism (I forget the actual method as to how the data is taken off of tape, but I know it has to do with the tape being magnetic. The very initial reading of the tape will degrade the quality of the data being accessed.

Digital to Digital isn't always 1:1. You are transferring to different storage mediums. Get the idea of transferring data from a hard drive to a cd/dvd/bd or flash drive out of your head. it just isn't the same process and tape is no where near as reliable as said media.
Dude, by your logic, a digital copy is impossible to store on tape (which just isn't true). You're basically claiming if I store the number "12" on a tape, it comes back as the number "13," but a CD would return it properly as a "12" since there is no physical contact.

No. He's saying that you if you store the number 12 on tape, it may come back as an incomprehensible series of static due to contact. When is the last time you put in a scratched DVD of Gone With the Wind and it degraded into Girls Gone Wild?

No, this happened inside the office because I was talking to someone who worked there.

You're getting at the probability of a read/write error (which may be higher on tape than optical media). I stated this earlier. Assuming there are no read or write errors (which can be detected by the way) the copy I send to someone on tape will be identical to the one I have myself.
