Yeah, but I think the gun helps. If you just go around shouting "Bang! Bang!", that's not going to kill too many people. Not unless they were really dodgy on the heart.MajinVejitaXV wrote:Just remember: "Guns don't kill people, people kill people, and monkeys do too (if they have a gun)".

Herms, you should go test this at the local police department. Let us know how it works out with your phone call... if you make it.
Shameless plug of a friend's review. Figured I should as it's my fault he caved in and got the box.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
When you are backing up and transferring large amounts of data onto tape, the probability increases of the data becoming corrupted. Yes, of course there are error detection and correction mechanisms, but why not avoid that by using a more reliable medium?ect5150 wrote:You're getting at the probability of a read/write error (which may be higher on tape than optical media). I stated this earlier. Assuming there are no read or write errors (which can be detected by the way) the copy I send to someone on tape will be identical to the one I have myself.Freeza Heika wrote:No. He's saying that you if you store the number 12 on tape, it may come back as an incomprehensible series of static due to contact. When is the last time you put in a scratched DVD of Gone With the Wind and it degraded into Girls Gone Wild?ect5150 wrote: Dude, by your logic, a digital copy is impossible to store on tape (which just isn't true). You're basically claiming if I store the number "12" on a tape, it comes back as the number "13," but a CD would return it properly as a "12" since there is no physical contact.
We are talking about highly sensitive and important data, where one screw up due to a climate change or just simply reading the tape can case something to happen. Not to mention the tape could tear a bit when accessing the data (like someone else posted earlier on when talking about the tear in goku's face in the first orange brick set, but instead we'd get sweet corrupt + missing data).
Also, the probability of data corruption increases EVERY TIME the tape is accessed. Same logic as to how VHS tapes degrade over time. Optical media doesn't experience such problems because no physical contact is being made with the data when accessing it.
Tape obviously works, because tape can hold a lot more data than all current optical media. When Blurays finally hit that 400gb disc size in the next couple of years, it'll clearly be the better candidate.
Basically, why have good when you can have better?
Also, did anyone else notice that there was an error in the subtitles for one of the episodes? I picked up on it on disc 2, during the baseball scene.
Yamcha, in the subtitles, doesn't tell his coach that he wants a two million zenni bonus, but Puar and the coach apparently acknowledged it and got worried. Or am I just going crazy? XD

That's what I said before when questioning your original post. To quote myself ... "Tape may lead to a greater chance of corruption, but that's it." ... and your response was something like "No, it won't!"Jon Jon wrote:When you are backing up and transferring large amounts of data onto tape, the probability increases of the data becoming corrupted. Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
DB DBox color corrections & DBox color corrections.

I'm pretty confident I didn't say that. If I did, I definitely meant otherwise. Though, I'd double check me, because in the past when typing the people I've typed the exact opposite of what I was getting at XDect5150 wrote:That's what I said before when questioning your original post. This confused me at first as well, but a quick rewind to check it again and I'm pretty sure the two million was inferred by holding up two fingers. The coach sweated at first but put two fingers up as well. The whole deal is semi-cheating, so it could make sense to use coded signals?Jon Jon wrote:Also, did anyone else notice that there was an error in the subtitles for one of the episodes? I was thinking this too, with the two fingers, but I felt like it it was suppose to lighten the mood a bit. You know, just Yamcha being Yamcha XD. Then the coach just putting up the peace sign saying like "yeah okay". I don't know, I feel like it was actually said.Velasa wrote:This confused me at first as well, but a quick rewind to check it again and I'm pretty sure the two million was inferred by holding up two fingers. After playing and being frustrated with Raging Blast, I finally updated my Dragon Box Preview/Review up on Amazon. Enjoy. If there's any grammar errors, just PM me. Thanks

One piece of semi-related amusement:
While quite a few of us have used Target's online listed to get a price match from Best Buy, Target will not price match their own website (I know this because a few months ago I wanted to get the BD version of Taken, which was $14.95 on their website and $29.95 in the B&M store). Funny, no?
That just popped into my head and I figured I would share ;p

I was surprised when Best Buy accepted the price match, because I remember running into the same situation with Walmart!MajinVejitaXV wrote:One piece of semi-related amusement:

This is why all I buy from Walmart is cheap practice ammunition (since it's a redneck haven in my area and scares the crap out of me ;p).SonGokuGT wrote:I was surprised when Best Buy accepted the price match, because I remember running into the same situation with Walmart!
BTW, Best Buy has posted their new deals for this week. No sale on the DragonBox release. Target is holding steady though, so that's the best route to take still.

Excellent review. I just wish the Dragon Box had more 5-star reviews on it to drive up the score. Three stars for the Dragon Box is no good, especially since it's the superior product.Sebastian (SB) wrote:After playing and being frustrated with Raging Blast, I finally updated my Dragon Box Preview/Review up on Amazon. I picked mine up at Best Buy on Thursday and am only halfway through Disc 3. I'll post thoughts on it later, but I think I'll just say what every one has been saying: this thing is the best it's going to get, and that makes me very, very happy.

I contacted Amazon about the low-star ratings. All of these reviews were written months before the Dragon Box's release. A review of a product is not your feelings toward the release's announcement. Some of the reviews even have false information - like one guy saying that the Dragon Boxes from Japan had movies on them, when the films were released separately. That was his/her reason for not buying the set.Reckoner wrote:Excellent review. I just wish the Dragon Box had more 5-star reviews on it to drive up the score. A review is also not complaining about no dub track! Kai is coming out, don't buy this, no dub, not buying, etc. Shut up and wait for the set to be released before you go writing a review for it!
Anyway, Amazon replied back saying they removed some of the reviews. Ironically, though, they kept all the ones I complained about!
An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?

They did that because you complained to them. You shouldn't have let it bother you. Those were peoples opinions you didn't have to whine about it.DBZfan29 wrote:I contacted Amazon about the low-star ratings. All of these reviews were written months before the Dragon Box's release. I wasn't "whining." I was just a little frustrated at how people were bad-mouthing the release before it even came out. How are people going to find any of those "reviews" helpful if they want to buy the set? People spout their opinions regardless. It's like that on ALL online retailer sites with customer reviews. Don't bother next time ;D.DBZfan29 wrote:I wasn't "whining." I agree with you on that. But considering the majority of the 1-star reviews are nit-picking at best and none of them really get into the actual product and most are ignorant of it. The last review posted complained that the only difference between the Season Sets and the DBOX was "updated artwork." That was it.DBZfan29 wrote:I wasn't "whining." Now, granted, most of the 5 star reviews were posted before the release date as well so maybe I'm calling the kettle black here. Just because I agree with those reviews.
