I still can't believe we almost had blue-haired Bulma and they dropped it along the way. :(
Um you are mistaken here.

Rossum argued against accuracy. The director wanted her to look like this and she said she looked ridiculous.

Or at least according to Wasinthemovie.

That's not what I said. ^^;
*Put the part that was misinterpreted in bold*.

I wish she had argued for it. I didn't say if she actually did or not.

I was wondering when a picture of the all-blue hairdo would show up. It's just as cheesy as I imagined it to be. I'm glad they ditched it. On the other hand:
James Marsters: Actually for me it was a little different, because it was not easy to get green. There was some disagreement on what my character should be. And I went off. I argued vociferously for green. I told everyone that our careers were over if I'm not green. I'm not making a threat, and I’m not going to do anything wrong, and I'll go down with you, and I will be the first in line plummeting down into bankruptcy. I mean, if you do Superman, he’s got to have a cape. If you do Spock, he’s got to have pointy ears and if you do Piccolo he’s got to be green! So, no, as soon as I was green I was a happy happy happy little clam.
I owe this man a drink.

Well I just saw the trailer for the PSP game on the front page and if it is anything like the movie, I am going to be really impressed.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

I think the all-blue could have been nice... or maybe purple, since this is based off the manga? There's always fanedits, though.. so who knows if anyone'll take a stab at it?

If only "romatnikku ageru yo" were in the credits.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Is it sad that "Get me a jury and show me how you can say 'In July' and I'll go down on you." was the first thing to pop in my head as soon as I read that line?

I remember a bad action movie from three or four years ago, and it had a character with fully purple hair from the begenning till the end.

EDIT: it's D.O.A.

... if my respect couldn't go any higher for Marsters, it just shot through the roof.

Anyway, as far as hair testing goes ... I guess it would be accurate, but so many things in Dragonball if you take them to Live Action would make it look silly. Bulma's hair is not an extreme example, but it does look off. Also, early Android Saga.

My reply do Rossum's full blue 'do...
I don't really like the style but I wonder what it would've look liked if they tried a longer wig for example. I own a wig in that colour too except it's longer and it doesn't look *too* weird. But then again I'm not an actress...

But oh well, I can see why they dropped it, but it's also a bit of a shame... *but that's possibly just me fangirling*.

You have to give them credit for their honesty.

AP:

The filmmakers behind “Dragonball Evolution” added 10 years to its hero to give the movie a grittier look, actor James Marsters said at a press conference Wednesday.

In the comic book series, “Goku is 7 years old and fighting midgets all the time,” said Marsters, who plays Goku’s rival, Lord Piccolo. “We muscled it up.”

Justin Chatwin, the 26-year-old Canadian actor who plays the teenage Goku in the movie, said the cast learned several different martial arts styles for the movie. He initially was worried about taking the role because of his slender physique.

“I was looking in the mirror, going like, ‘I’m a beanpole, how can I pull off this role?’” said Chatwin, best known for playing Tom Cruise’s son Robbie in “War of the Worlds” and a teenager stuck in limbo after an attack in David Goyer’s “The Invisible.”

But while Goku was given a more adult interpretation, director James Wong said he toned down another key character — Roshi, a flirtatious, Hawaii-shirt wearing martial arts master — to appeal to a broader audience.

Roshi, played by veteran Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat, is “a little tamer than he is in the manga,” Wong said.

Wong said condensing the dozens of “Dragonball” manga books that have already been published was a tough task.

“All that we hoped to do was to preserve the essence of Dragonball — the fun, the thrills the adventure,” he said.

-Chatwin... just, fuck, look at him.

No no, we wouldn't want it to look ridiculous.

I love how James Marsters doesn't sugar coat anything. Such honesty is refreshing.

I'm not being overly critical, I just found the quote funny simply because I know it's a generalization.

People expecting the actors to know the complete ins and outs of Dragon Ball need to get real. I don't even think your average American Dragon Ball fan knows how old any of the characters are.
