Goku's supposed to be a naive fellow, who's pretty much like a kid with an older body. However, from dub watching experience, Goku's vocabulary suddenly seems to exceed itself as he speak seriously durng the more serious moments.

Just something I noticed, and am sure many others have, and thought it was something funny too.

Later on, Bulma, Goku, and Oolong find Muten Roshi for the first time, and he's wearing a Dragonball around his neck; he made a necklace out of it! Yajirobe also does the same thing when he's first introduced into the series. Kinda weird that one is able to make a dragonball into a necklace, considering that they're powerful enough to be submerged inside a volcano, but that's for another topic...

Another thing is when Piccolo punches Gotenks when they're thinking about how to escape from the Room of Spirit and Time. For a split second when he's punched, you see a chibi version of Goten and Trunks.
Oolong wasn't with Goku and Bulma when they first meet Roshi, he is only introduced in the next episode/chapter. You are probably confusing with either movie 1 or 4.

The 10 year anniversary movie (Path to Ultimate Strength) is considered the 4th Dragonball movie.

I don't know if this counts but... Has anyone noticed that FUNimation has effed up the begining of every Dragonball series in America. God help you if you wanted to see the begining of a Dragonball series in English...

Dragonball - The first 13 episodes were cut, still waiting for the uncut DVD's. Everything from episodes 14 to the last episode are fine.

Dragonball Z- The first 54 epiosdes were cut, then like 9 years later we get the uncut DVD's. Still not all of it is released. Everything from episodes 54 to the last episode are fine (well you know what I mean)

Dragonball GT - The first few episodes were not even released untill the end of the series. Thus a new episode is created to show what happens in the begining.

I recall listening to the podcast, and when the Ocean group dubbed DragonBall Z in the beginning, they only received the footage, but there was no audio what so ever.

**Note**
The first 13 episodes of Dragonball, and the first 54 episodes of Dragonball Z were Pioneer's responsibility I think.
**

DragonBall
The first 13 uncut episodes are already finished being dubbed, and it's already been released in..I forgot where, just not in North America I believe.

Dragonball Z
Nobody wanted old episodes to be air again, FUNimation did the right thing by continuing it, from where the Ocean dub left it. I'm pretty sure FUnimation chose to do this in order to build up the popularity of Dragonball Z and also to rake in the cash so that they could actually redub the first 64 episodes ( Is that number right? )

Dragonball GT
Yeah, they screwed up on this one, they Could have just started straight from the beginning, since Dragonball had basically gotten enough attention. It's pretty obvious why they didn't expose the audience with the first batch of episodes first.

Even though FUNimation's methods are a bit wacky sometimes, I'm sure they did all this in order to have a large fanbase. We have problems with their methods because we've been well educated on how the entire Dragonball, Z, GT series was supposed to go. FUNimation was only trying to reintroduce the entire thing in a 'fresh' new way, and it is obvious they have succeeded.

I guess this is more of something you would notice if you've watched DB and DBZ: Bulma is older than Chichi, and neither really "act their age."

Not only that. He knows who Sir Issac Newton is and understands the theory of gravity. :? I'm not saying Goku's an idiot, but he was most likely never educated on the subject, and Goku's the kind of guy not to notice gravity. (Especially considering how long it took for one man to discover it.) Besides, Sir Issac Newton's not a significant person to Goku: why would he remember a person he's never met, let alone someone that doesn't exist in his world! @_@; Of course, that might not be so. Hilter was there...

Gotta, love the ocean dub.

I thought it was ammusing that Funimation left that Sir Issac Newton line in their new script as well. I also noticed a similar instance in the Pioneer dub, where Oolong states that Goku's powere leval is higher than the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. I don't think it was included in the new Funimation version, though.

Empire State Building? Oh god. How painfully corny of Pioneer. I can't see why Funimation would leave in the Issac Newton line. It doesn't make sense. :?

Why are people suddenly saying Pioneer did all these things?

It's been FUNimation's dub from the start. They wrote the scripts, casted the voices and what have you.
Where's the beef?

You're absolutely right. Pioneer only dubbed the first three movies. The series was dubbed by Funimation the entire time. Well, at least Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball has been dubbed three or something times I believe.

Actually FUNimation did do the dub of the first 3 movies with the Ocean Group cast just like they did for the series. Pioneer only distributes the DBZ DVDs & VHS at that period of time.
