Well, they're more valid if they're brought forth in a reasonable way than if they're just phrased as whiny or excessively pessimistic bitching.desirecampbell wrote:'Tidbits' are not enough to make this a good movie. Complaining about the costumes looking bad is a valid complaint. Complaining that the lead actor looks nothing like the character is a valid complaint. Every complaint brought forth is a valid one.
And Kaboom, your reaction is just "further proof that no matter what tidbits are released, people will find a" way to spin them into making the movie sound less-than-terrible.
I'm not trying to insult you or anything; you can be as cynical about this movie as you want if you so wish to be. Just, don't treat those of us actually optimistic about the outcome like we're being blind, ignorant, or arrogant little idiots. I know Kaboom, for one, knows perfectly well that the movie could in fact end up sucking, and hard; he just also knows that it could also end up decent or even really good, so he's just choosing to maintain confidence in the latter. I myself am hoping that it turns out really good as well, even though I know that I'll be rather ashamed if it's not when I go to see it. But, I'm not going to make a point of focusing on how potentially bad it can be. My hopes aren't sky-high, but they're not nonexistent, either. I'd rather not add to the dismay I deal with everyday already. (But if you feel like you can handle tacking that on, be my guest.)

There's a lot to say about keeping an open mind about these things... who knows, if you go to see it when it comes out, you might actually walk out of the theater fairly pleasantly surprised. "It actually didn't blow as much as I as fearing," or something like that. >.>
