Well, I can play American DVDs on it mine some of the time... and a lot of USA games can play on Australian systems, so who knows?SSJ Helldog wrote:Curious about this too. I was able to play an Italian DVD (PAL) after making a copy of it and removing region coding on my friend's American 360. I didn't look too far into this thread so I'm just going to make my quick comment now.
When I got my Dragon Box I read the back of it and it said something about coming to the United States. I live in Canada and whenever I see something that is released in North America I hate it when they some shit like "For the first time in the United States!" Publishers need to remember that Mexico and Canada both get theses DVDs too and not to talk all about the states on their packaging. I'm pretty sure the discs were printed in Mexico.
So yeah, the US isn't the only country in North America and this box set is sold in at least one other, Canada.

Not making a big deal about. Just a complaint valid about wording on a North American release. If it was made for the US then it would be available only in the US.JulieYBM wrote:FUNimation is an US company making a product for US citizens. BTW, you put FUNimation is an US company, it should be: FUNimation is a US company. Also it looks like you deleted your post or took back what you said but whatever. That was up to you.

But anyhow, I don't think the selling of this product in Canada somehow negates that this product is primarily 'for the US'. But, y'know, I could be wrong. I've lived in the best damn nation on Earth my entire life, so I could not be seeing straight. Although I'm sure FUNimation wants your money, it's simply their perspective as US citizens first, global...last?

Quite possibly. It seems clear to this non-American that the DVDs are intended for an English-speaking Region 1 and 4 audience which includes not only the United States, but several other prominent nations.JulieYBM wrote:You certainly responded better than I thought you would.![]()

Now, while the United States is the largest English speaking anime market, this particular run is obviously intended for distribution outside the country, making its word choice not so much offensive but lacking basic foresight.

The Dragonbox trailer said "For the first time in North America". So you really don't have a point.Zeroplus wrote:I didn't look too far into this thread so I'm just going to make my quick comment now.

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.
Why would you stretch it to widescreen! I should smack you for that!pjay wrote:Why would you smack me?godofchaos wrote:Don't make me smack you.pjay wrote:I too watched the Dragon Box on my PS3, I agree with VegettoEX, it does look great upscaled to 1080p 4:3 (1440 x 1080) and even stretched to widescreen (1920 x 1080) it still looks great
Kidding...
Do you really like a distorted [stretched out] image? LOL!
I am assuming this is what godofchaos is remarking at which if true, I agree.
I guess that means mine has or will arrive in the next couple of days. I wont actually see it until Christmas day as it is a present from my girlfriend. It is almost going to be as good of a present as the Dog she gave me last year.Captain Awesome wrote:My Dragonbox arrived today.
For those not in the know, I live in Australia, and I also ordered it from Amazon, so I'm pretty impressed by the shipping speed considering I chose the cheapest option, it shipped on the 16th, so just over a week isn't too shabby
Just pre-ordered D Box 2 from Amazon. I could nearly get away with not paying for the first 2 but unfortunately it is released after my Feb 8th birthday.

Hopefully they will lower the price a little more as they did with the first.

I think I'd like to pay for the most expensive shipping for this one, since I was late with preordering it...
For some reason, recently I've been very weary of it, like I didn't want it that much, but seeing Heath and Mike's reviews and comparisons I want it the same as I did when it was first announced, and I felt like I was slipping away from Dragon Ball for a while, but I'm not...
Also, Fist of the North Star boxsets next year too!
It's all coming together!
